Originality / Re: 1967 with both RS and SS packages. What stays on the car?
« on: September 02, 2020, 11:21:59 AM »
I found this paragraph here....Joe

Optional Stripes

1967
Starting in April 67 and continuing through the end of the model year, the D91 stripe (aka front accent band) was available for non-SS, non-Z28 cars. Cars with the Rally Sport (RS) option had a gap in the D91 stripe (like the SS cars) for the RS emblems. On non-SS and non-RS cars, there was no gap in the stripe. Pinstriping was not available as an RPO, but was included with Style Trim or Rally Sport

Does anybody know if there is a date code on the a/c condenser for a 69? Thank you, Joe

The CBL rear on mine was built 8/12/69. Finish date of the car was 8/28/1969. Without a POP I could only say most likely....Joe

Your car should have everything a SS would've had in 1967. Hood with fins. SS fender emblems. SS350 grill emblem, SS350 gas cap. SS horn button. I don't know if it said SS350 (have to look). 350 fender emblems with lover emblem on rear part of front fender. SS was dominant over RS so nothing emblem wise would've been different. Nose stripe & I believe body side pinstripes also. Rally sport is of course hidden lights, solid tail lights with back up lights below. Special rocker & door lower trim. Hope I got all that correct...Joe

The tang looks to be the same on both sides. The shock mounting bolt only secures the shock in place. It would have no effect on the crush of the bushing...Joe

I hate forgery. I have a 68 Z/28 that I've owned since 1976. Engine & transmission gone before 43k. I  restored it the best I could & I've enjoyed over all these years. If it looks correct under the hood, most people wouldn't know the difference...Joe
