Restoration / SS & Z/28 stripe colors
« on: February 20, 2021, 11:06:56 PM »
I've been looking around here for the paint codes for stripes. Was code 10 used for black stripes, code 50 for white stripes & code 72 for Z10 & Z11? Subject came up on FB. Thank you, Joe

This is from a description from CRG

 (3) An alternate yellow/black custom interior offered late in the
model year. No original examples found to date. Most lower interior
parts were black instead of 707 yellow/gold including: carpet, seat
 backs, kick panels, etc.

So is this saying only seats, door panels & decor panels were the only things that were yellow? Maybe how they did it in 1969?...Joe

Originality / 1969 horn buttons
« on: February 03, 2021, 05:35:39 PM »
I have 2 sets of horn button for the standard steering wheel. One has a light pebble grain & the other is more of a camera case grain. They both have the same casting numbers. What makes them different? My car has the wood grained center bar & I purchased a steering wheel with the grain. I studied the section on wheels but I didn't see any mention of this. Thank you, Joe

I went ahead & used the round ones since they were in the zip lock bag from me taking the car apart. They're a little bit of a pain to install. Thank you, Joe

Welcome aboard Joe. In the car world these days, numbers matching doesn't always mean it has the components it left the factory with. That phrase can also mean they found components that might be close to what it was built with. If they say it's "born with" than it may have the components it left the factory with....Joe

Originality / Radio mounting nuts
« on: January 28, 2021, 09:09:38 PM »
On a 69, which of these nuts were used to mount to radio when it left the factory? The round ones were in a baggie from when I took the car apart. The guy who worked on the radio included the hex nuts. Thank you, Joe

9N677163 08E 1969
NCRS date 8/28/1969
MSO date 9/4/1969 KN15878

I guess I should've noted that this car didn't sell until 7/29/1970. I was guessing this car might've been a dealer demo.
Probably had to find the right person for a yellow interior car :)
