Originality / 1969 turn signal lamps
« on: July 23, 2018, 01:37:18 PM »
I looked at some turn signal lamps from a 1969 that were different from mine. These had a longer pigtail harness & no grommet where it would go to the fender wells. The valance these were attached to had a code of 42 & the fenders from the same car said 40. These parts have been in storage since 1970 or 1971. They're from a car that was made into a race car.
Did something get changed on real late 69s as far as t/s light go? Thank you, Joe

I think I know the answer for this but just wanted to be sure. A passenger side mirror was always an accessory & never an option...Correct? Thank you, Joe

Is the Speedway Wide Tread F70-14 tire group the most correct for a 1969 SS? I've read several discussions but just thought someone else could please take a look. Thank you, Joe

Originality / 1969 Standard grill observation
« on: March 16, 2018, 01:03:34 PM »
I was comparing the grill from my car to another one I have & noticed headlight washer nozzle holes in the grill I removed from my car. That grill (black) was bought from Chevrolet in 1981. The other grill I have is a gray colored plastic the doesn't have those holes. I'm guessing the gray one is from the assm. line. Haven't found casting numbers on either yet.....Joe

Restoration / 1969 coupe trunk floor
« on: March 10, 2018, 10:36:33 PM »
I've discussed here before the brand of trunk floor to replace my trunk floor with but I'm curios if the trunk floor of a coupe can be installed with the quarters & tail light panel still attached? I don't want to take anymore of the car apart than I need to. Maybe from underside? This is Arizona. We don't normally have these problems. Thank you, Joe

Originality / Glass Norwood Los Angeles
« on: March 01, 2018, 12:50:30 AM »
Would there be a chance that a Norwood car might have glass from the Los Angeles glass plant, ie. glass ending in "10"? Referring to a late 1969 built car.
Thank you, Joe

Decoding/Numbers / Lug wrench
« on: December 06, 2017, 03:28:18 PM »
I've read lots of posts on lug wrenches and one thing I can't find is data on dimensions. Could anybody post some pictures of both ends & maybe some dimensions? Before I go looking for another, it would be nice if I knew my sample could be correct. My sample is about 18" long overall. Thank you, Joe

I'm trying to determine what radiator tag has "IO" & "CH" on it. According to the chart a 396 w/TH400, with 4 row, curved neck should be a UZ. Tags I find with UZ have "IE" & "OO". A little help please. Thank you, Joe
