The Fisher Body service manual has a detailed section on installing tops and how the pieces get layered.  Also if you go to the Team Camaro site forums they have a section for convertibles.  A topic search there will probably find you an answer as well.  Don't know off the top of my head, never attempted an installation.

Yep, plus to verify on a 67 you would have the group 2 code R on the trim tag for the rear speaker option U80.

I'll chech the p/n later today - I had a speaker guy in Ohio who had a rebuilt pair that I was looking at, however I just needed one for the 67 setup and he didn't want to split the pair.  He was offering me the pair at $170, but I'm not certain 67 and 69 used the same one.

Sorry if I'm derailing this topic, but does anyone have a tip for a correct looking roll-over on the staples ends?  Is a "camel-hump" appearance correct?  I was thinking about using a pair of needle nose and rolling over, then push it down a little more into the rubber.

Interesting partial VIN stamp on this block.  My MU block was cast and assembled two months before this one, and went in a car around 4500 units after this one, same assembly plant.  The chrome oil filler tube is also interesting.  If original it lends another data point for its use on L48s.  I believe there was another complete engine on eBay recently that appeared original and had the chrome tube.

Only 188 came from the factory with the RPO V75 traction compound dispenser, so probably not too many documented ones left as it sort of implies the car was bound for the Rust Belt, etc.  Every once in awhile you'll see cans of the compound listed on eBay.  They didn't keep records down to the exterior color and interior combination level.  Estimated 7% of 69s were Daytona Yellow, so something less than that for yellow on yellow combo.  It's all found in the research topics at the top of the home page.  Some of the ones you spotted in the past may not have been factory original.

Didn't the early 67 LOS cars have the four body numbers sequences running consecutively, depending on coupe or vert and then std or deluxe interior?  So it would be the 6082 of its particular group (coupe std or coupe deluxe since both verts types only got up to around 2000) thread?

Also go to the home page and look under "Numbers Decode", down near the very end.  Shows original date stamping and another pic of a hood left rear corner.  I've seen some stamps that are halfway off the edge, or lightly stamped so you may need to remove any built-up layers of paint to find it.

I was recently working with a black waterproof sealant I got through McMaster Carr and thought it appeared similar.  Stuff took awhile (days) to dry though, and came in a standard size caulk gun tube.  I think it was one of the first two listed here, bought it years ago so not certain.  I was surprised it was still good after sitting that long.

The engine and trans partial VINs were stamped before the alternator was installed, so it was not a matter of having to go back and remove the alternator but more of a consideration of being able to read it once the alternator was mounted.  Norwood used the pad up to around December 68 and Van Nuys varied between the pad and oil filter area thoughout the model year.

The calipers are fairly easy to rebuild if the bores are good.  Whichever vendor you choose, be sure to communicate all expectations in advance and keep a record of your agreement - i.e. no swap outs, grind-out of casting #s or stampings, no restamping, whether you want calipers stainless sleeved, etc.  If the booster is pitted you could lose some stamping detail during the process.  I'd talk to Jerry first, just be patient in reaching him.
