Decoding/Numbers / Re: Glass Codes

One might assume so, but I wouldn't be surprised if back in the day a dealer went through a local glass shop for a replacement, if the profit margin was better.

Back in the day the dealer would have replaced the glass before it went on the lot, and I highly doubt anyone would be looking at glass codes back then, if even realizing they were there.  Attention to details in restoring a car are much different than those of a new car buyer.

Your flex plate is correct, those inspection covers are very hard to find as they are unique to the L48s.  I've been looking for one myself for quite awhile now.

Have you tried going to the Team Camaro site, enter the Electrical and Wiring section of the forums, and running a search using key words?  There is a "Search This Forum" drop-down menu on  the right side of the page.  I've got the walnut wheel and my car is several states away in storage.

You may want to also download the 67 chassis service manual.  I think it may show the steering wheel assembly in better detail than the AIM

You even have to take the vendor's claims with a grain of salt.  Note they say that bracket above is for a 67-68 Camaro with a BB.  I haven't seen too many 67 BB Camaros with factory a/c.  Probably explains why it wasn't in the 67 AIM.

There's also an old thread at Team Camaro, under Convertibles section where a guy with a 67 said he had them on both sides originally.

Here's an old thread:

I don't recall my 67 having this, unless it fell off before I had it.

Butternut would get a black bumble bee stripe, regardless of top color:

It's my understanding that in 67 you could not special order the stripe a different color.

I believe those were used on early 70s Nova, probably other applications.  He may have taken them off his car, but they are not factory correct for a first gen.

Research Topics & Reports / Re: 1967 Camaro radius rod research
« on: March 27, 2014, 04:05:57 PM »
Just spotted this 12A LOS L48 w/ PG on eBay.  States that it has the round radius rod but no pics or axle code.  From the ad:
"Front Disc brakes, 12 Bolt Posi, Round Radius Rod, R/S hideaway headlight assembly with relay board and wiring harness"

On eBay, appears to be N138616, V0131MU, block, rotating assembly and heads.  Looks like the Flint stamp was missed, ground out and restamped?

I've got an 11B L48 from LOS with early H/August casts and an engine assembly date of the 19th.  Sat around nearly 3 months.

I'm fairly sure the water pump is 3782608.  A common pump, used over many years for SBC applications.
