General Discussion / Re: AC Delco Brake Hub & Rotor 177-567

For your viewing pleasure, there's one that's been listed on eBay for awhile now.  With repops now available, the people looking for NOS at that price is a limited group.  They were also used on some Olds, Pontiac, etc.

I wish someone would just repop the discs themselves, I have several good original hubs in my parts.

There's a guy with a very nice 11B LOS survivor who's posted up pictures on the Team Camaro site, photo 30 of 52 shows the yellow stamp on his motor.

hrascoll - He also has factory air, maybe you can ask him to send you pics of the hoses to the condenser routing you were asking about.

I actually have a NOS front set, not rear, couldn't locate a date on the one box.  They look like the AMK, but with a dark phosphate finish S2 that they list in the catalog.

Those seem correct.  I have an old NOS set sitting in the original boxes that I can check later today, assuming those would be assembly line correct.

Have you looked at UPC C60, Sheets A1 and D3-D5 in the AIM?

General Discussion / Re: Classic Car Motor Oil

My first impression is that it's probably just conventional oil with a ZDDP type additive and maybe something in addition, selling for the price of synthetic oil.  You could probably get the same results from stuff at your local parts store, and probably less $.

Never done it myself, but it's probably explained step by step and illustrated in the 1967 Chassis Overhaul or Chassis Service manuals, both which last I checked could be downloaded here:

My guess would be you have to remove the box.

You're right it won't last long.  A few more months and it will have totally disintegrated. :D

Small blocks were more commonly used, therefore they didn't sit too long.  Maybe a couple of days or a week or two?

You really can't apply generalizations here.  I've seen an L48 assembled in mid-August, that was installed in a LOS 11B car, so about 3 months apart.  The inventory control wasn't as tight as you find today.  I suspect things could get stuck back in a corner and sit for awhile.

Thanks Kurt, that's what I thought. Takes more than a couple assumptions to get to that claim.

So if I'm reading it correctly, Fisher's "A" week of August 1967 would have run Sunday 7th through Saturday 13th.

Keep in mind that the 08A where A is the "week" of August, does not necessarily match up exactly with an August 1967 calendar.  Here's and old thread link below that discusses this.  Given this, you may have more separation between the engine build date and the Fisher scheduling date than you think.  IMO you're okay.  It's doubtful for a 327/210 car that anyone would go through a lot of effort in finding a "date correct" replacement engine or attempt a re-stamp.

There was a DG wheel discussion on this forum back in September:
http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=12536.0

I've never seen a 67 model year DG wheel with a year stamp of 66, so I'm wondering if they just started that year & month stamp in January 1967?

Not saying it's the case here, but sometimes the semi flat black will reflect enough light to where it almost appears white in older b/w pictures, especially if a flash was used and depending on angles.  Sort of an optical illusion.

Thanks for tip on the chassis service manual but I don't have one of those and I have to get these control arms in tomorrow.

Dave

May be too late, but looks like you can still download the 67 service manuals here, probably little to no difference between a 68.
