Those guys at Phelps really like the vinyl top cars.

All those standard wheels on the 67 SS's put the J52 numbers in the RPO spreadsheet in perspective.  Looking at the surviving cars today you'd think almost all of them came with rally wheels.

67 bezels were dash color, balls were chrome & black.  68s had chrome bezels.

Looking at section UPC11-13 in the AIM, the part number is 9780422 for the machine screw.  Cross referenced on the AMK site, it is a 5/16 - 18 x 3/4 screw, their part number B-12498 and found on page 117 of their catalog.  This is a flanged head with a pointed end.  I believe the same screw is used for the support bar, but check the AIM.  As I recall, this matches what my 11B LOS car had from the factory.

Here's the diagram for instrument panel and cluster.  I think you want the "Heat Control Light" near the top right, gray wire.  See attached file below for diagram

Here's the sheet (pdf file below) from my reprinted 67 wiring diagram.

When I was rebuilding the brakes on my early 11D 1969 SS/RS convert., one of my rotors was under specs and was not able to be cut.  I could not find anyone making or selling just the rotor disc.  I bought a repro 2 piece rotor asm. from a vendor (Heartbeat City), but the hub had some differences from my original.  So I swapped the new rotor disc onto my hub (they matched up perfectly) and then trued the assembly on a brake lathe.  Now, using the original hub, my rotors match and are both at almost new thickness.  I put the new repro hub into stock as a backup in case I ever need it.

Thanks, I've been wondering about this and will probably do the same since I still have the good original hubs.  I wish someone would sell just the rotors.

Back in the 80s I had to use the newer one piece rotors, as I could not find the original 2 piece anywhere.  I had to have them turned down a little in that same spot where you show the caliper rubbing on yours.

I believe there was mention here in the past that the LOS plant stampings could be a bit more random, at least for 67s, meaning you may find only one or the second one upside down or partially stamped at the heater box opening.

Not sure if this is correct, but I thought I read somewhere that the factory disc pads were not riveted and only bonded to the steel backing plate.

I'm not sure I trust my memory anymore, but I've always thought the factory pads were rivets, and the rebuilts ones were bonded..?   I'm pretty sure the factory pads were/are riveted (and bonded probably)...

Yeah, I might be thinking of the rear shoes.

General Discussion / Re: camaro nationals or carlisle?
« on: June 05, 2015, 01:03:10 PM »
Carlisle.  More going on there...vendors, flea market, and GM cars with plenty of Camaros.

Fredricksburg and Carlisle are close enough in proximity that one can do both as Brian302 and I (and some others) did last year!

To clarify, the Camaro Nationals are in Frederick MD and held at the fairgrounds, not in Fredericksburg which is in VA between DC and Richmond.

It's in the semi or satin range, I've no idea of the exact percentage gloss but would guess 60% - similar to other applications found on the car.  Sauron67MM on the TC site may know the correct mix as he's a body man with a lot of knowledge on finishes.
