Originality / opinion on rear brake cylinder
« on: March 23, 2018, 08:50:10 PM »
Any idea if this casting number is possibly for a 67-69 rear brake cylinder assembly 5464077?  Has the split circle but no Delco Moraine cast on the opposite side, so not sure if it's an original or aftermarket.  Rubber boots on the ends read Delco Moraine.  I found this in a box of parts for a car that uses 31/32 dia. rears, and never owned any other vehicle this would fit.  Not sure if it came with my 67 purchased back in the 1980s.

1967 - Orphans / N138616 L48 V0131MU engine

On eBay, appears to be N138616, V0131MU, block, rotating assembly and heads.  Looks like the Flint stamp was missed, ground out and restamped?

Restoration / Rally wheel valve stem length
« on: September 29, 2011, 07:58:40 PM »
Anyone know the correct length - either overall or protruding from the rim to cap - for rally wheel valve stems?  Specifically 67 DG 14x6 wheels.  I believe they were Dill 627s, but seems like there are various lengths for this number.  Thanks.

Decoding/Numbers / Harrison radiator small tag
« on: April 06, 2011, 02:14:47 AM »
Anyone know what the small "BG" tag is on this UK 23 inch 3-row?  It is on the driver side IH tank, so not the remnants of an overflow hose clip.  Radiator is believed to be original to a 67 LOS 11B, L48 with a/c.  Also, does the rail look correct for 67?  Looks like a cross between the 68 and 69 rails shown in the OEM cooling system report section.

1968 - Orphans / 18N348165 Powerglide
« on: September 08, 2010, 02:54:58 PM »
I found this stamp on the Powerglide in my 67.  A little scraped up but I believe these are the correct numbers.  Knew I had the wrong tranny, didn't know it was a 68 Camaro unit until I recently pulled it for minor rebuild.  Passenger side pan stamp is T8S02D.

1967 - Orphans / 12637 LOS 771 (11B Kxxx?)
« on: July 17, 2010, 04:15:08 PM »
Anyone know the whereabouts of this deluxe interior sport coupe?  I assume it would have to be be an 11B and around K250 (my car)

I have your L & R body inspection tickets.  Rediscovered them a couple weeks ago when going through my old docs.

I pulled these from under my rear seat about 25 years ago.  They were shoved in between seat bottom springs and the seat bottom as I recall.  Always thought they were mine until I looked closer.  Options are shown as (1) E 2S 3SK.  Left ticket just shows 3K.

My car is 12667 LOS 687.  Go figure.  Trash bins must have been full that day.

Restoration / What are these block stampings?
« on: July 07, 2010, 04:48:35 PM »
Early 67 MU block, not original to car but from same plant and week mine was built (LOS 11B).  I believe the engine build date was in mid August.

Restoration / Closed or open element
« on: April 30, 2010, 02:01:49 PM »
Without the original block, is there any other way to determine if an early 67 had closed or open venting, by build date, options, plant etc?  Car now has a numbers correct but not matching 657 block.

Originality / Early 67 L48 engine details
« on: April 28, 2010, 04:46:26 PM »
Newbie here, please excuse if these have appeared earlier.  Car is RS/SS conv w/ air, 11/11/66 LOS build date

For the script chrome valve covers, on which side does the one with two wire tabs go, and what do the tabs hold?  I don't see this detail in the AIM.

Oil filler tube, chrome or black?  Car is closed element if that matters.  I have a NOS Z28 3889316 tube bought several years ago, but AIM lists a different part #.  Seems like the repop suppliers are pushing  chrome Z28 version as a correct tube.

For the crankcase vent tube, the AIM shows hose 3883966 and a tower clamp used to connect the tube to the air cleaner bottom tube.  Is this available anywhere, or is their a suitable alternative?

Lastly, did the Powerglide use a 14in 168 tooth or 12.75in 153 tooth flexplate?  My car is in storage a couple states away and I wanted to order a new one in advance for replacement during an engine swap.  Never had it apart before.

Thanks
