Decoding/Numbers / Re: 12A X22 Cowl Tag on Ebay

When did the X codes exactly start?  Does anyone know for absolutely sure?  I think this might be a real tag towards the end of the 12A week and could be one of the first X tags...  l ;)

Decoding/Numbers / what determined the replacement for a CE block
« on: March 13, 2010, 07:14:07 PM »
3) What determined the service replacement... i.e. Cracked block seems obvious, but what about a rod bearing? would they rebuild it?

2) What was changed? for example if the OEM block had a bad main... did the heads get swapped or was it a whole engine?  i would think it was just what was broke and everything else got reused.

1) Does anyone know where the exchanged OEM (warranty) block went from the dealership?  Did it get rebuilt and resold, studied for causes, thrown away???
