Originality / Re: original or repop gauges?
« on: May 23, 2017, 04:36:20 PM »
I also thought the fuel gauge looked different. I just found a thread on repop speedos, it looks like mine is a repop the 130 mark is above the odometer window.

Can anyone identify if these are real or repop. I believe they have been in the car for at least 20 years.

if you used silicone or to much Teflon tape on the sending unit it might not be grounding to the block.

Thanks guys, The car has been frame off restored so there are not many clues left. Did they put the X code behind the back seat on los cars? Supposedly it started life as a Olympic gold big block car but no way to prove that.

I picked this car up this weekend it is a copo clone. I was wondering if there was any thing in the data base on this car? The car was originally Olympic gold with a vinyl top

I have a big block engine where the 840 head casting dates are 6 days before the build date of the engine. That seems close to the build date any body else seen some thing similar

Not all cars had the bracket by the alternator if your car is original see if the bracket hole has threads for a bolt

Did all 1969 Camaros have different size tension rods if the car had a spoiler or just cars built later?
