I believe Darrell is correct.  Definitely something fraudulent going on.  Rockers are for coupe, NOT convertible.

I agree with Stingr ................Looks a lot like a Tonawanda block (no galley plug).

I think there are 3 things for sale here.  First the vehicle identification numbers, second the trim tag, and third the clear title.  Take note of the numbers you will most likely be seeing a Dynacor or some other aftermarket body soon, and it can be any GM color combo they want!!

Poor job on the brake lines (plus many more uninformed resto errors) , kills the whole look under the hood.

Originality / Re: 1969 Convertible Rear Wiring
« on: December 06, 2015, 03:55:49 PM »
Here's a couple of pics from when I took my car apart.  The wires come down the drivers side, with, but not a part of the rear wiring harness.  Then they travel up the rear seat separator and around the back.  The conv. top wires go to the motor between the two pieces of the seat separator to the motor.  The ground wire is screwed to the front side.  The rear wiring harness travels straight back to the connector for the tail panel harness.

Question, Biddle's sticker has timing of 8 degrees on the 350 and 370 HP engines.  When did Chevrolet change these specs? When they did this will give us a date change between the two stickers. Maybe??

Here's a picture of Jean-Claude with a 1969 SS/RS 350 convertible.  Looks like mine only mine has spoilers and no ski rack.

When I was rebuilding the brakes on my early 11D 1969 SS/RS convert., one of my rotors was under specs and was not able to be cut.  I could not find anyone making or selling just the rotor disc.  I bought a repro 2 piece rotor asm. from a vendor (Heartbeat City), but the hub had some differences from my original.  So I swapped the new rotor disc onto my hub (they matched up perfectly) and then trued the assembly on a brake lathe.  Now, using the original hub, my rotors match and are both at almost new thickness.  I put the new repro hub into stock as a backup in case I ever need it.

I purchased my CF emission labels from Don a few years.  I had him send me both plain and laminated.  I believe the look of the laminated is closer to my original.  My original mistakenly got wiped with solvent.

The D90 stripe on my 11D SS/RS convertible stopped at the fender extension.

Here's a couple of pictures of mine after I glass beaded the rust off and used fast etch on it (zinc phosphate) to keep it from rusting again.  Please excuse the bad pictures.
