1969 - Orphans / Re: 19N606111 L78 396ci / 375hp block

Ed,
I sent a picture of the original pad with the T0221JH stamping to Kurt maybe he can post the picture. I tried and it indicated that the picture was to large.

Ed,
Its crazy that the casted date is so far back from the pad stamping. Just shows nothing is etched in stone.

I would like to give the car owner a chance to purchase the block before selling same. This 69 Camaro block is standard bore and was purchased out of New Jersey. It has the original stamp decking coded T0221JH / 396-375 HP Camaro L78.  The partial VIN number ends in 606111 and the casted date is H 19 8.

Thanks,

Dave

Originality / Re: Is this an OE Leaf Spring Eye Bolt & nut?
« on: October 28, 2011, 06:01:19 PM »
The bottom, which is shorter is the correct bolt. The longer one is for 70 model year and the NOS later shackle kits come with that long bolt also.

I thought that early built car came with the 660 on the flange and the later ones on the tube or neck.

Yes, this is yet another style of DF rims that aren't documented anywhere. I had three rims that I sold a couple of months ago. They should have the KH in the lug nut hole area like the early 67 rims. The later version came with the K 1 8 in the lug nut area. These rims were possible a service replacement rim that were identical but dated different and yes the DF stamping is not upside down.

Restoration / Re: Sway Bar End Links - Correct Finish & Bushings
« on: April 01, 2011, 01:51:41 PM »
I have a TRUE NOS kit that I purchased years ago. They have the smaller diameter bushings. Also the hardware is not silver cad, but a phos or natural finish. BTW the bolt head markings are WB.

I have a 1969 03D - 38,000 mile Z28 with a smooth wheel.
