Originality / Re: Original?
« on: December 07, 2013, 02:22:32 AM »
Thanks for the responses everyone.  i will check out the trim tag as soon as I get my garage finished.  I have just finished putting up the board on the ceiling and will start on the walls tomorrow. Then paint and finish installing electrical and then I can take the car out of storage and bring it to its new home. I will attempt to post some pics tonight or tomorrow if I can find the time. Thanks again all.

I have been an on off member of this site for 3 or 4 years but have been very busy with life the last year or so and have not been involved . I did own a sweet rs ss 67 ragtop clone for 4years but sold it this past June when we moved.  I recently bought another 67 ragtop and  immediatly put the car in storage to build a garage.  I am the fourth owner and have the original protector plate for the car. The previous owner says the car is numbers matching. I have not had time to confirm this due to the garage build and the car being in storage. It is a 327 four barrel 3 speed Saginaw with a deluxe/custom interior. 10 bolt open rear end.Manual brakes manual top.  This car has the factory set of console gauges and dash tack.  I know these features were all available at the time of production but is it a little odd to see a non rs ss car with the gauge package and deluxe interior with a 3 speed Saginaw.  Where the 3 speed sags  ;Dcommon in these cars.Help with info please.

hi all   been off the planet for quite sometime.  can anyone tell me who makes the best door rubber sets. i installed a set i purchased from classic industries. i beleive they were sofseal.  they do not fit very well at all. at the top of the door say adjacent to the out side handle they are very bulky and fit very loose.  is there another manufacturer you would recommend?  is this common with sofseal?  thanks ;) ;)

??? I suppose that is a rather presumptuous (sp) guess on my part Kurt.  What does one do in my situation when you want to put a tach in a 67 that did not originally come with one and the repops or apparently origs are not compatible with a HEI system?   Jim

:)I am interested in that gauge pluml78.   What makes one tach 5000 redline and the next one 55 or 6000.  Is it engine size as in 327, 350, big block or what. I would guess that orig gauge would be compatible to an hei ignition.  Jim

Thanks for the reply 68z.  I just found out the repop tachs in the Classic Industries catalogue are not compatible to hei ignition systems, which my car has.  My next step now is to find a repop that is compatible or find an original tach and go from there.  I appreciate your response.  Any other idea?  jim

??? ??? I have a 67 ss rs clone ragtop.  I found an original set of console gauges this past summer and I would like to install them.  My car has never had the   console gauges so i need to install the wiring setup for this part.  Classic industries seems to have the wiring conversions i need although they tell me i have 2 options as far as this project goes. The first is to replace the entire underdash wiring harness so that it is compatible to the console gauge conversion wiring kit in their catalogue.   The other option is to just buy the console gauge conversion wiring kit and hard wire it to the existing underdash harness.   The car is complete and is beautiful.  I do not really want to pull out the underdash wiring harness as it works fine.  QUESTION    Has anyone out there done this before?  What are the trials and tribulations of such a project?  Thanks for any and all input.    Jim

Restoration / Re: 67 camaro rs rocker panel molding set
« on: December 01, 2011, 01:57:52 AM »
Hi All    I have been off the site for far to long.  Just busy with life.  No excuse I know.  In 2003 I restored a 71 camaro and found a nos set of rocker panel mouldings in stock at my local GM dealer here in St Albert Alberta Canada.  I was shocked.  The parts guy told me that any of the older established GM dealers whos were around in the 60's, 70's would get large volume of the more common parts.  Needless to say i was pumped at the nos parts.

Restoration / 67 vert top adjustment
« on: May 23, 2011, 12:32:19 AM »
??? ??? ???I just noticed the other day that the rag top on my 67 when fully up and secure is sitting about 3/8 of an inch short on the top of the windsheild chrome above the window.  This is causing a gap between the top of the vent window and the under side of the top. I had the top and frame removed when the car was painted and it is obvious to me now that the top is not forward enough when fully up and secure; Please does anyone know how i adjust the top frame so that i can move it forward about 3/8 of an inch.  Any help would be greatly appreciated,  Thanks  Jimbo :) :) :)

I am hoping some one can post some pics of a 67 door interior ie window regulators and all the other parts. I stripped my car for paint and made a detailed drawing of the parts and  were they go but have miss placed the drawings.  My drivers window keeps falling inside the door. I have a couple of small angle brackets left over with a rubber cap on the top. i beleive these are designed as window guides or stops but i am not sure. I do not know where these are supposed to go. I have looked thru the crg website but cannot find an answer.  If possible a schematic or drawing iwould be very helpful. Thanks  Jimbo
