Yep, have heard Mark Worman (Graveyard Carz) ;) mention differences in B5 Blue. Was thinking I've read 68 and 69 Lemans Blue was different as well. A quick google search brought up this thread....http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=15328.0

Anyway, I've been looking at 2 different monitors (computers) and Frank's car (color) looks more vibrant on one compared to the other. I surely don't want to open a can of worms here...lol, it's a beautiful color anyway you look at it....Although the rally wheels is a bit too much! (imho)

Lets try again.

Beautiful ...I know you're in the automotive paint business, Frank, is that an authentic LeMans Blue color or little something added for extra POP!? 8)

After your text, click on preview button, lower right. Then choose file. If you're still having problems, you may need to reduce the size of the photos.

Good to see ya here, Frank! :D Anyone interested, here's the thread with additional photos and info from TC...https://www.camaros.net/threads/my-bob-johnson-1968-z28-from-scuncio-chevrolet.484666/

And I see Chick still hasn't added this car to his 68Z list!  :-\ https://www.camaros.net/threads/how-many-members-have-a-68-z-28.182224/page-15

Thanks for the response.  Would a GM service replacement hood have a date code?  I realize it wouldn't correspond to build date.

Not always. The ZL2 hood I purchased OTC doesn't have a date code stamped. Fenders, one does and the other does not. All 3 purchased in the early '90's.

Okay, I see it now, along the top of the windshield. I thought the said grab handle was on the dash, above the glovebox like 68/9 Z87 Camaros. :) OOPS, not too familiar with verts! ???

There is a pic of the trim tag in the online ad - bad angle, doesn't show clearly, but has likely been off the car as it has no sealer in the trim rivet holes. (Nice shiny white firewall, too - )

First things i noticed in all the hoopla was the absent garb handle on the passenger side (i thought this was included on all '67 Pacers), plus the manual brake master cylinder (drum brake car, or manual disc ?). Otherwise, very pretty car, well out of my reach -

Regards,
Steve

67 did not have a grab handle, pace car replica or not. Perhaps the real pace cars had one added as part of the modifications for the track, like the rear bumper flag holders?

Don't think so....https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0522-502577/1967-chevrolet-camaro-rsss-pace-car-edition-convertible/

Both are legit, sir. :) http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=20158.0 Too bad it's so CRUSTY, eh!

I guess you're referring to the scheduling code (upper right corner) associated with LOS (Van Nuys) built 68's...http://camaros.org/numbers.shtml#CowlTag Norwood built doesn't have that code.

Dunno where you got the photo above, it's not in the ebay ad that you linked? I'm not familiar with that tag at all.

9063 & 9064 are 68 production numbers and also 67/8 service part numbers.

From the report linked above;
Quote
The 68 service parts were probably the same as the production parts. So the 68 service parts were probably chrome up to the May 68 timeframe and then supplied as unchromed from then on. To that end, the below picture shows one of two observed "new in the box" service grilles which are black. If a 68 chrome grille needed to be replaced and a NOS chrome grille was not available, the replacement black 68 grille would have been painted to match the original chrome doors. The first "Note: paint as required" is found no earlier than October 1968 for the headlight covers. So far, December 1971 is the earliest such a note is found for the center grille.

I couldn't tell ya the vintage of those on ebay, but I'm sure they're genuine. I bought the entire grill ("over-the-counter") around 1990 and of course there was no chrome.

A little off topic, but doesn't the air cleaner lid in the first photo (Rusty's) look odd around the perimeter? I've looked at it over and over thinking maybe it was a "reflective illusion", but still think it's not correct.  :-\

David's 68 is an 11E build. I think it's safe to say the headlight doors would've had raised horizontal ribs (with chrome) the same as the grill.

There's a scroll bar just below the photo. Push it to the right. And thank CRG for that. At least I didn't have to reduce the size. ;)

While I was takin' photo's for ya, David....note the xxxxx's on the rear bezel. The one right side up is a front. If the other was in the same condition, they'd both be installed on the car. I should've had them rechromed when they did the bumper and door handles. :-\
