Hans L  You cannot put POR-15 and powder coating in the same category. Complete different animals and totally opposite form of coating.
34  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / Re: door mirror adjustments???? on: June 24, 2013, 09:41:54 PM
I guess you could use the slow messy method in the above link.

What I did was much quicker and easier. I used a small hammer and a sharp punch. I removed the mirror and turned the head to expose the part of the ball that is normally covered. I used the hammer and punch to knurl the ball. I then moved the head some and knurled the other side of the ball. The mirror is nice and tight now and the knurling is hidden when the mirror is returned to its normal position. It is a quick and dirty fix and that works great!

How did you get the mirror out?

38  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1969 Z/28 to Rallysport Z/28 on: June 23, 2013, 08:09:44 PM
I wouldn't do it especially if it's a numbers car. Yeah you can fix it all back but welding up a hole is more destructive than cutting it out.
39  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Survivor on: June 22, 2013, 07:11:33 AM
OK Gary I'm with you now. You'll need to know I've never had a car judged so I didn't know about the "degrees" of survivor. That's what I meant by the bracket, percentage, etc. statement. I learned something today.
40  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Survivor on: June 21, 2013, 10:05:47 PM
The purpose behind survivor cars is what the AACA calls "historic preservation of original features".
When you are thinking about Corvettes or Camaros, where original festures can still be found, I suppose the BG standard seems lenient. But when it comes to a totally original Marmon or Cord, they are few and far between...

Point taken. I'm not one to tell other people how to run their business but it would make more sense to me if it were broke down into some kind of brackets for maybe age, number produced, etc. etc. etc......

As I stated in the title. Has somebody been playing with the layout or is my new meds really working that good? The RED BOX is smaller and the CRG Discussion Forum at the top of the page looks larger
Hey all the contact info under the Red Box is gone. Somebody has got into the happy juice.
