General Discussion / Re: Diverter Valve

Thanks John, I had seen a few like that and wasn't sure when or where it was done. So I take it it was probilby done after the fact at the dealer or some other garage.

General Discussion / Diverter Valve
« on: February 06, 2012, 11:56:56 PM »
Hi, I have a couple of diverter valves. One looks normal and the other has a wire welded to the valve and to the muffler above it. I've seen this a few times and was wondering if any body could shed some lite on to when and why this was done.  thanks, Rick

Marty, Today's your lucky day. I have that issue of the Camaro Enthusiast (April 98). Give me a couple of days and I will get the pages scanned and send them to you.

Very cool Marty. Mine is a 12B and the assembly plant is VN on the tag. Somewhere in between yours and mine they changed from (LOS) to (VN). Also I have a  (- B) paint code.

Great looking car Jesper. It's nice to see Camaros in other parts of the world. You should be proud.

With all the auctions he's been involved with (522) You would of thought someone would of left him some negative feedback if that's the case. Right now he has 100% feed back and when the average Joe is buying something that's about all he has to look at to see if the seller has a good reputation.

Decoding/Numbers / Smog Pumps
« on: October 18, 2011, 10:20:12 PM »
The build dates for smog pumps start out with a 3 digit "Julian date Code" then the year, and last the plant code. Most of the plant codes I've seen are "1S". (Saginaw). I came across one that the plant code was "1Y". Could someone tell me what plant that was from. Were all 69 Camaro smog pumps made in Saginaw or were there other plants?  Thanks

My engine is stamped V1203DZ. One day before his. I have the VIN. Stamped right next to it. Mine is a Van Nuys car. Maybe this one is a Nor. car
