General Discussion / LOS/VN Trim Tags
« on: July 03, 2011, 06:08:03 PM »
I'm not sure if this has been covered before, If it has maybe someone could point me in the right direction. On the Van Nuys Trim Tags I know the the change from (LOS) to (VN) on the body numbers occurred sometime during the first and second week of Dec. 68. With the DB information that the CRG has or any other research can it be narrowed down any further?

General Discussion / 69 DZ Blocks
« on: June 24, 2011, 09:55:45 PM »
Could someone tell me why Chevy used 4 different blocks for the 69 DZ 302 through out it's production. Was there any changes on the blocks besides the casting numbers?  Thanks

General Discussion / Block Stamping
« on: April 23, 2011, 11:13:08 PM »
I have a friend that was interested in this car and ask what I thought. The stamping on the DZ block he's offering with the car doesn't look right to me. Could I the the opinion of some other 69 Z owners and see what you think. I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

General Discussion / Numbers Don't Add Up
« on: February 26, 2011, 06:05:40 PM »
There's a car being listed on E-bay that was built in LA and has a 12B build date on the trim tag. My car is a LA built 12B car too. The VIN numbers on this car and my car are 224 apart but the trim tag numbers are over 11,000 apart. Is this possible? It's got me scratching my head right now. I look forward to the experts chiming in.

General Discussion / AD Rims
« on: February 26, 2011, 05:07:53 PM »
I'm in the process of trying to find AD rims for my 12B Z28. The rims I have seen out there all had a date code of Oct. 24. Were these rims made in batches on certain days?  I'm sure there has to be some other dates out there for these rims. If anybody out there has an early built Z28 with the original rims could you post the date codes you have. Or anybody that has knowledge of some other date. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Foreign Camaros / Strange Trim Tag
« on: November 06, 2010, 06:08:15 PM »
What's up with the trim tag on this Camaro? Is it a foreign produced car or just a bad reproduction.

Decoding/Numbers / 69 Rear End Code Stamping
« on: October 13, 2010, 03:02:41 PM »
Hey Guys,
Has anyone come across or heard of an original rear end that didn't have code stamping on a rear end? I have a 69 Z28 (12B Build date) And for the death of me I can't find any stamping on the axel tube. I've seen pictures of where it's suppose to be. Got under there with a flash light and cleaned the old paint off and can't seem to find it any where. I know the rear end is original to the car. I've owned it for 35 years. Any ideas?  Thanks, Rick

Decoding/Numbers / Early 69 Z28 Rims
« on: July 12, 2010, 12:49:46 AM »
Hey Guys, I have a Early 12B 69 Z28 and have been looking for a set of rims and was wondering if anybody out there had a 69 Z close to mine and what the date codes were on them. I've heard that the rims were made in batches at certain times of the month and just trying to get an idea of what to look for. You guys out there are great. I enjoy reading through all the posts weekly. I've learned so much. Thanks and take care.

General Discussion / Camaro Publication ?
« on: February 05, 2010, 12:05:57 AM »
Are there any "Just Camaro" Publications out there? Back in the 80's and 90's the United States Camao Club put out "The Camaro Corral" and "The Camaro Enthusiast". These were great publications that just focased on Camaros. It was sad to see the USCC go away. I enjoyed being a member.
