« on: February 12, 2013, 10:47:53 PM »

General Discussion / Interesting 69 For Sale
« on: January 04, 2013, 10:17:52 PM »
Here's a interesting 69 for sale on E-Bay. Check the engine pad stamping. You don't see that date every day. Might be a nice car for the right person.

There's a great article in the new (Feb. Issue) of Hemmings Muscle Machine. It also has some interesting photos of early Camaros racing the Trans-Am series.

General Discussion / 50 Z/28's For Sale ???
« on: December 26, 2012, 10:47:03 PM »
I had e-mailed American Dream Machines about this car ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121042771446&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:MOTORS:1123 ) They have for sale. I wanted to see a pic of the trim tag. Here was his response.

Thank you for your interest in our cars at American Dream Machines.  I think that one may be sold.  It is a x33 car and we are happy to send pictures if it is not sold this week.  We have 50 other Z-28s.
Please give us a call at the shop and our restoration staff and I will be happy to answer your questions regarding the car.
More pictures and detailed information can be viewed on our website at www.admcars.com

Thank You,

Doug Klein

50 other Z/28's  ???  Come on !    I wonder out of that 50 how many are the real deal.  :-\

General Discussion / This Car Has "Wrong" Written All Over It.

First Check out the pad stamping. :o   I'll let you all pick the rest of it apart. I really get depressed seeing cars like this being misrepresented. It's a crime. :(

General Discussion / 69 Z28 Master Cylinder
« on: December 09, 2012, 09:40:32 PM »
Is there any way to tell the difference between a 69 Z master cylinder from Oct. of 68 or a Oct.69? I think they just have the Julian date codes and no year on them. Are they identical?

General Discussion / Is Engine Original To Car?
« on: October 04, 2012, 09:20:57 PM »
I came across this car on e-bay and he states the drive train is original to the car. It's a 12B and the engine is stamped V0913DZ. Could a December built car have a Sept. built engine?

Thanks, I always appreciate your opinions.

General Discussion / Trim Tag Question
« on: June 19, 2012, 10:08:59 PM »
Is this a Nov.68 tag or a Nov.69? The body number seems too low for a Nov. 69. but it has the D80 code. Another fake ?  :'(

General Discussion / Diverter Valve
« on: February 06, 2012, 11:56:56 PM »
Hi, I have a couple of diverter valves. One looks normal and the other has a wire welded to the valve and to the muffler above it. I've seen this a few times and was wondering if any body could shed some lite on to when and why this was done.  thanks, Rick

Decoding/Numbers / Smog Pumps
« on: October 18, 2011, 10:20:12 PM »
The build dates for smog pumps start out with a 3 digit "Julian date Code" then the year, and last the plant code. Most of the plant codes I've seen are "1S". (Saginaw). I came across one that the plant code was "1Y". Could someone tell me what plant that was from. Were all 69 Camaro smog pumps made in Saginaw or were there other plants?  Thanks

Trans-Am Camaros / Are These Items For Real ?
« on: August 16, 2011, 09:58:09 PM »
Hey Jon, Have you seen these items on E-Bay?     http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619&item=200641986820&viewitem=&category=10076  I was just wondering what your opinion was on them. Some rare items you don't see for sale all the time let alone all in one auction.

Rick
