Has anybody ran into a 69 that has required the thick front gasket? I
have one that takes thick front and stick is on driver side. All if the engine seems to be original.

9 thin and 10 thick, but I have seen some reference to left or right oil tube? In one description it described the dipstick as right side thick front for the 34510. Mine and most I've seen are on the left or driver side and thick front gasket?

Have somewhat similar problem that started after a starter bendix change. At times, numerous times the bendix will not go into the flywheel or mesh when attempting to start. You have to turn the key to start a few times, during which you hear the bendix slap the flexplate but not engage because it didn't mesh.
I have shimmed, shimmed, shimmed until..... I have had the bendix changed again, used all parts of another starter, but bendix.
Checked the flywheel with all seeming to be OK?? Missing something. Any thoughts?
Note: I attempted to knive the edge of the bendix to remove any flat spots on the outer edge and it seemed to help some. But still not solving problem.

I Have the seal, but can not find any thing relating to the clips other than the assy manual.

Will check it out and appreciate the input. Anybody else have anything to add, please do.

Cost of the seal is the least of my concern. I do not want a leak and after all this, as I said, I want this next time to solve the problem.
Sounds like the #BS-118291 is the best way having what one might call a backup lip?  Or would one suggest the #2900?
