110  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / RS Grille on: June 20, 2012, 10:42:57 PM
Any comments on Replacement RS Grilles? Ordered a Kit that contained a imported 69 RS Grille.
I know the OEM is best but is the import that different? Heartbeat City GNL-1061 vs. ?
111  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Re: RS Conversion Kit Installation on: June 04, 2012, 08:48:13 PM
Seems as if cost is not that different in the kits I've looked at
I myself, even though it will be cloned, like playing to the " period correct" mode.
Just trying to decide on kit choices.

Any suggestions on venders on latest conversion kits for 69's.
Also any input on staying vacuum or installing one of the new electric kits
113  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: TH350 Kickdown Cable on: February 24, 2012, 05:51:32 PM
Still stuck on this kickdown cable thing. I would like to try to replicate the orig. does anybody have one of the old that can feed me a few measurements?
Total length of cable and then sheath, then travel?

Understood on brackets. Now my question about the cable for the L48,
on M38/A9, they show 2 diff cables. Can anyone explain to me the revision note on the
3947511 cable and it's diff from the above 3947510?

Steve, Did they always use what we have been calling the old style kickdown cable,
or did they ever change. In other words can anything like the bracket Marty had pictured
earlier in this thread be used and be called original or period correct?
116  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: TH350 Kickdown Cable on: January 11, 2012, 08:22:27 PM
Well let's get off subject farther to the left, AIM M35/A25, and the need for a harness retainer hole.
The AIM shows the solenoid bracket on the carb shown here, but what all applications were the solenoid used.
But Z28/A4 shows the stand running up and back, where the M35/A14 shows this stand running up and forward.
Any reference anywhere on the diff part numbers though?

Want to hear it all. I was at first just wondering about the cable, but this kind of
discussion brings to light other variables that I hadn't thought of like the stand issue.
The pictures that you guys have been publishing are great. And speaking of is there really any difference
in the 2 pictured stands or is it just camera angle. The bend angles look to close to be actually a diff bracket.??
118  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: TH350 Kickdown Cable on: January 10, 2012, 10:54:26 PM
I have looked over the above posts and some old in conversation with Boston14 and others.
I have to question and or agree with the correctness of the left stand
as a Z or L48. I have  seen two 69 350's, one camaro and one
a 300hp from a impala, which we all know is essentially the same as the
L48, and the stand and kickdown brackets are the same.
Both have the double bend as that in his pic.

That's great. At the time the only or closest alternative.
But still as you stated not correct. Will keep eyes open and
keep asking. Do you have any measurements off the old cable as to length
of the cable and housing? If one had that off a OEM it wound not be that hard
to retro.
Thanks again.

IZRSSS posted great engine comp pics in oct of 10 that showed a bracket for the newer style cable. This bracket was a lower profile than I have seen before. This mounting allows vac booster hose to pss threw bracket as it should.
anybody know where to find this style bracket?
