A good way to get the correct clips ,is to visit a junk yard ,and find a 69 chevy passenger car.

When I started this conversation , I had a hunch ,that cars with factory cowl hoods stayed with their original bodies. This seams to be the case, just like most original gas tanks. This is a good indicator of a time line ,when the body (Fisher) met up with the front sheet metal (Chevy). I think it would be a good idea to collect this data, just like the gas tanks.  Let's see some more data, specially some early cars!

The 1969 camaro tv commercial refers to the bumper as (New resilient bumper). Nice originals are hard to find, prone to rusting out. Paid $350 for a nice used one 30 years ago!

Tough question to answer!  First post your build date, then members can chime in for a better approximation.

I have been in the hobby for over 40 years. I love cars!   Early on, only the  corvette guys were concerned about matching numbers. Today, if you have a "Matching Numbers Car", you are either Very Lucky, Wealthy, or Old Enough!  Now people say "My car was born with".  Things have gotten out of hand.  Really, isn't a car a collection of parts, put together on an assembly, to be sold for ones personal transportation!
