When restoring any car , and the original motor or trans is missing. What should be the excepted practice?  1)correct motor or trans, correct dates, no vin   2)correct with close vin   3) correct with restamp  vin    Let the  people weigh in on this topic.

This motor came out of a car , that was totaled in 1973. 18,000 miles. Sat in the car for another 10 years before i purchased it.  The car sat outside near the Chesapeak Bay.   The motor exterior was pitted but was like new internally.    Vin.   N710596

Several years ago  i posted my 302 motor  late  build date of   10/24/69 . VIN  stamp  N 715xxx.  Below is a picture of the pad stamp.  Have any later dates turned up  now?

I purchased this case for my 69 -z  661208 vin,   mid june car , currently  has 68  m-20  trans.

General Discussion / U80 Radio option for 69

The U80 rear speaker option,   has a fader pot with a wire harness. At the end of that harness is a small circuit board.  Does any one know where this plugs in.  I know the blue speaker wire plugs into  the harness.

Brass valve located @ driver side subframe.  I noticed that the in and out ports are different sizes.  Are there any internal components ?  Had to heat fittings to remove lines.

After measuring the distance between the holes,  the gaps are inconsistent  i agree they are for balance. The rotors had to be drilled independent of the hub or they could have  hit the  bolts that  hold the rotor in place. The bolt heads are right in front of the balance holes.

The holes need to be cleaned up. Why are there 6 holes ,on both rotors . All the same diameter.  We need to see if there  are other rotors with a different number of holes. If the holes vary in number, they were for balancing.
