lets face it, these have become dinosaurs! not many 40+yr old cars are still rolling around. I went through similar getting a freaking water pump for my Z, no one in Dallas stocks reman w/p - hard to believe. The new one would "fit" but the pump body was moved back and hits the factory metal gas line - DOH!

Maintenance / Re: 69 th350 leaks
« on: April 03, 2015, 01:49:46 PM »
FWIW I had a 76 Cutlass with T-350 that I replaced the pan gasket 2-3 times only to find out side servo cover O-ring was leaking and running to the pan. lesson learned
ALWAYS diagnose the problem right the first time makes repairs less of a whipping in the long run

I know, I know  :-[  currently has 4.10s in it now and its fine around town but get it up on hwy @4000 rpm and I'm still being run over so I'm going to 3.31s it has a M20 so its worse than 4.10x2.52 that I started with first gear ratio was 9.02 and now will be 8.34:1 (a little better than a 3.73 with a M21 @8.21) will this thing be a pig in the city now? or ? will it be tollerable?  future plans is to sideline the 302 for a 383 and that should be fine with 3.31
thoughts guys?

I had to use a clip like this as my e-clip came off (at the wrong time  :( ) due to lever being worn

The PVC with the markings that go completely around the body  "AC SPARK PLUG TYPE CV-746 C"  which I believe was the original markings but who knows if it's the original or a replacement at some time.  I also read the Z's PVC had a PURPLE hue to them.  Not sure if that's true or not.
any pics of PCV with hose removed? supposedly should be the Spun one looks like from bottom pic and thanks for all the detailed photos! good stuff and nice score

Originality / Re: What's the correct Alternator bracket for a 69 Z/28
« on: September 18, 2014, 04:03:14 PM »
I dont know which is correct but from what I know there is a weird bushing that goes through the bracket for the air pump-so the pulley lines up- maybe one is stamped different and doesent use the bushing? I also would like to see pics of correct one
