31  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / gas tank coating on: April 17, 2011, 08:37:27 AM
i have replaced my original gas tank with a new tank due to age, appearance, and mostly it had small pin holes in it. it has been recommended to me to clear coat the tank before installing it, I'm not to sure about doing this, has anyone ever tried this and if so did it last or peel off? thanks for any advice that any you can offer.

34  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / ignition key/door key on: February 23, 2011, 09:11:47 AM
i continue to get different information from my local friends in reference to the ignition key verses the door key. some say the door key and ignition key are the same, but others are telling me the round headed key opens the doors, trunk, and glove box. so now i am confused, can anyone here help clear this up for me? the car is a 69 camaro.
thanks
35  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / rosewood dash on: February 10, 2011, 01:57:10 PM
my rosewood dash is in pretty good shape for its age, but does show some light scuffing or for better words scratches. these scratches cannot be felt with your finger nail. is there anything that someone has tried to help hide these marks?

37  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / GM mark of excellence on: December 23, 2010, 10:23:45 AM
when i purchased my 69 it had the gm mark of excellence sticker on the drivers door jamb, i have since learned this door was re-tooled for the vehicle certification label. Does this car get the GM sticker anywhere else on the car?

Gave my jobber the ditzler code #9317 showed in the autocolorlibrary, and it is too shiney. he may or maynot have made a mistake (not sure) but would this be the correct code for the upper part of the dash?

1969, black interior. tried that web site and gave them the interior code that was listed for bl;ack and it turned out way to glossy. wish i had the skill to do the body and paint, i have restored two vehicles so far and getting them prepped and painted has been a headache each time.
Thanks, Mike

Does anyone have a ppg paint code for the top of the dash? my local store seems to be a little reluctant to flatten paint.
