Marty..do we need the "the" before First Gen Authority? Think "Authority" may be spelled incorrectly in 2nd example.

Marty,
My vote is keep the CRG logo + wording.  Loose the RS, SS, etc. but add (in small lettering) the web address.
37  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Rear Axle U Bolts on: November 09, 2012, 12:27:33 PM
Thanks for the Team Camaro reference Jeff68.  My 68 12 bolt (350SS) also has one u bolt and 2 t bolts on each side,  but the u bolts are aftermarket.  Just ordered two u's from Heartbeat the are supposed to be identical to factory ones.  What prompted the question was the Assembly Manual that showed u bolts for the 396 option, although I assumed it also included all  350 SS's w/12 bolt as well.  Just want to check with the experts.

In 1968, were all 12 bolt rear axles equipped with two U bolts 3930054, or only those with the 396 engine?

Danzo.....there is a market for these, as no one manufactures them at present.  Suggest you contact some vendors (i.e. Steves Camaros, Heartbeat, etc.) & offer them a wholesale price.  Assume you'll need to send them samples + commit to guaranteed volumes.

Count me in too if you are going to sell them.....how much?

I used the Metro latex on my 68 and they worked great.  Doors and trunk metal are factory original.

One of the best chromer's in the US is Sherm's out of Sacramento, Ca.  Does lots of show cars.  Has three levels of plating available, so you can get good quality without going all the way to show chrome.  Got my front bumper redone where it looks like factory chrome vs show.  Cost me $450, with a 5 week wait time.  Assume price depends on how much prep is needed.

L22K19....from my experience, licensed by GM does not mean better quality.   This applies to all parts, not just body sheet metal.  I still think the best way to get quality parts is by getting input from forum members, and others that have gone through the restoral/replacement process.

I like AMD for fenders.  Put a Dynacorn SS hood on my 68 & it was excellent.  Saw a Dynacorn 69 complete body shell ($13,000 +) being installed & it looked pretty good too.  Assume any vendor brand will need some tweaking & some body work it make it perfect.  If you buy AMD panels because they are thicker, be sure to check the "roll" on the edges.
45  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Re: Speedometer gearing... on: September 13, 2012, 08:24:56 PM
Most parts suppliers stock these gears.  Some provide charts on which gear will get you closer to the correct speedo reading.  When I went to larger tires I bought 2/3 different colors & changed them out until I got the right one.  There are formulas you can use, but I found buying a few was easier...they were pretty cheap.  Watch out for leaks where the speedo cable connects to the xmsn, may need to put in a new o ring after you do the swap.
