I received a gift calendar of Dale Klee's unique work earlier this year just did a search on line for his site. A lot of excellent art here and one in particular that should interest first gen Camaro fans entitled "Camaros and Kin." http://www.oldcarart.com/

Thanks for the avatar tip Kurt; I will try to reload it.

As for the missing pics, they seem to be mostly JohnZ's and Bjv69ss's posts. One example in particular is their pictures on the Rear Defogger dated April 4th and 8th 2010 in the General Discussion forum. I've seen several others but can't remember exactly where they are.

Thanks again.

We're glad to see CRG is back in action but what happened to all the attached pics? All I get is the infamous red X in the corner of where the pic should be. My avatar is also missing from all of my posts. Anyone else have this problem?

My 2 cents worth, keep it original. I was tempted many years ago to change my Butternut Yellow '69 RS to a cool (at the time) Candy Apple Green. Sure glad I didn't!!

A welcome bonus indeed! It's a sunny 72 degrees here in upstate NY and the snow is gone. Weather like this makes me miss my '67 vert. :(

Originality / Re: DX-1 Stripe
« on: March 27, 2010, 01:03:47 PM »
Not available on Z/28 or Camaro SS or with any other striping.

When you say the DX1 striping was not available "with any other striping" does that include the wheel well striping on '69s? My 04A '69 RS has the DX1 stripe with wheel well striping.

I don't see anything on the interior picture that says '68. Looks to be just a typo.

Mild Modifications / Re: MOTOR MOUNT STRAPS
« on: December 02, 2009, 06:45:02 PM »
I know the recall was in place in 1972, for the 1969 Z-28's. It would be hard to believe that the mounts would be rotted away by that time. I would think it would be a problem with too many hard leaves breaking the mount. GM was known to change the mounts to interlocking style, if tubing headers had been installed, and the kit would not fit around the exhuast.

My '69 RS L65 received the pictured (JohnZ) recall cable motor mount strap in '72. It was not just for the Z28s. Installed in a very short time as I recall. I also agree the mount would not be rotted away after such a short time. Lots of "hard leaves" around at that time with so many Camaros, Mustangs, and assorted other muscle on the street!

Restoration / Re: Matching Numbers '69 SS restore HELP
« on: November 25, 2009, 05:49:58 PM »
I missed your question on the rear shelf with single speaker, mine has this also. RPO U80 optional rear speaker was available with AM pushbutton radio, front or rear antenna, and installed on the passenger side of the rear shelf at an added cost of $12.50. The cover measures 9 and 3/8" X 5 and 3/8" and is black with very small holes covering the entire surface, held down with four chrome screws. As far as the shelf goes, I'm not sure who makes the best repop part and haven't seen any good looking originals for sale in quite a while.
I would use all original parts as long as they are usable, but that's your call. I like to keep mine as original as possible.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Well said John.
I've read of Canada keeping great records of first gens shipped there and wonder if their better record keeping will apply to production as well. It would be a great plus to benefit future collectors.
