Ed, Just received the POP from his '69, minus Vin and owner info.

Replacement?

Thanks for the help Richard. Sweet RS by the way.

Is that a retaining clip or hose tie I see peeking out directly under the hood adjust bolt?

Anyone know the correct routing for the driver side headlight washer hose?

Mine leaves the bundle of vacuum hoses just under the fender well brace bolt point on the core support and runs through the larger triangular hole on the door hinge plate before connecting to the nozzle. This doesn't seem right as the hose is somewhat pressed against the headlight when open and rubs against the hinge plate when operating. The passenger side just takes a direct route above the hinge plate and I suspect the driver's side should also.

Should the hose travel further along the support before exiting? I don't see another tie point for the hoses any closer to the headlight.

Sounds good, glad to hear it worked so well for you and Jrschev.

Can't wait to give it a try. ;D

Thanks,

Thanks for all the great tips and well wishes guys. At the prices they're getting for repros, I'll give the glue and trim tricks a try first.

Thanks again,

Thanks guys,
I have a boat load of those clamps and will glue all edges. I'll let you know how it came out.

I did not know it had a fiberglass backing. I noticed in Rick's catalog that the repro pads are fitted to metal, if anyone's tried them, how's the fit? Good color match?

Anyone else have a dash pad lifting problem? My '69 is starting to lift at the front edge toward the windshield. It's in perfect shape otherwise.
If it can be glued, what type of adhesive would work best? I'm thinking I should remove it completely and glue every edge, the rest of it can't be far behind, or is this only a problem on the top edge?

Thanks again, Ed.

Now I have to break the bad news to him. I got his hopes up about the car's info when he told me he had the POP. :-[

Thanks Ed,

I'll get in touch with him and post pic ASAP.
If it is a replacement, is there any way to obtain the missing info using a replacement POP?

A friend of mine has a very different POP than I've ever seen. It's a 69 with the top line containing the VIN only, a two line blank space, next three lines list name and address of owner stamped directly into the metal (no plastic strips) followed by 5-50, 177, and 4-9 on the bottom line.

Does anyone know why his lacks so much info?

Ed-

I know this thread is quite old but thought you might still be interested in this info.

'69 RS L65
12437 9N626607
713
04A
Deluxe interior-  full woodgrain & passenger side dash handle, bright pedal trim, console, dash mounted clock, courtesy lights, and under hood light. This car also has the hand painted stripes over the wheel openings.
I've looked very closely and can find no trace of a pebble finish, maybe because of the late build going into April of 1969?
Is there any info you could use that I left out?

Thanks for your comments everyone.

I plan to replace it although I know with almost certainty it is the original sticker.
Unless someone from the dealership put it on, it was, according to the original owner (my brother) what the car came with when he bought it new. He and his wife ordered it to their specifications (a gift to her) and kept it stock except for aftermarket chrome mud flaps and a CB radio. I'm grateful he was gentle with it, using a clamp mount antenna and routing the wires through existing holes and opened panels along the way instead of just drilling everything! I purchased it from him in '71 with 35,000mi.
