46  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Rick & His Yenko at Americarna LIVE Car Show on: December 08, 2013, 10:40:32 AM
No this is not Kevin's old gold car....it was sold in Jan 2011 at Russo & Steele. This car was running in F A S T class when I traded for it in '09. It's a black plate car with all original sheetmetal.Only 4 of the gold Yenkos exist far as I know..2 with white stripes 2 with black.Kevin had one of each. I love the olympic gold and it's the original color too! Thanks

I see what spots/shading you are talking about and have seen it on lots of tinted repo glass.?.I've got Mexican made Pilkington glass that's so far off from fitting the correct shape/curve the spots are minor! I'd take the glass that fits any day!Do you mind telling who made the glass?

55  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1969 DZ BLOCK OR NOT... on: September 02, 2013, 06:08:03 PM
I agree..having a real DZ block with a close or any build date would be the best option. Nows days finding one without a restamped block is rare.........3-5k for a real block-real stamp........good investment
56  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: touch up paint on: August 13, 2013, 07:23:27 PM
Depends on what you're touching up....... a 2012 chevy truck or a vintage vehicle that's been restored I'd think. The local dealership can provide a ready to use quality touch up paint while a body shop or paint supplier with a mixing station can mix a custom color for the vintage/restored vehicle.. Unless you have factory paint you're touching up you'll need the second choice..Just my 2 cents!
57  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / Re: 1969 Z/28 DZ 302 overbore to .040? Piston Source? on: August 02, 2013, 08:30:47 PM
Sure everybody wants a standard bore block but if you got a overbore .040 -.060 and need .010-.020 more to clear it up for a good fit why not just get custom pistons vs having sleeves installed? Many piston manufactures can easly make what you need and you don't spend the extra cash for new pistons and sleeves??A .125 is 1/8 of a inch! Just a different way to view this problem IMHO.............

59  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Converting 69 Camaro 3 speed auto on the tree to 4 speed Questions on: July 31, 2013, 08:03:59 PM
Removing the column shift collar or any collar will require complete disassembly of the steering column because that's the reverse lock out on manual shift  and the heart of the column...It can be a real pain to get apart without causing the saftey plastic that holds the upper and lower sections of the lock out/shift tube together.Might be beat to just replace the column with a floor shift?
60  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Crane XR-i points conversion question. on: July 31, 2013, 07:47:43 PM
I like points and they work forever it seems but I've also had good luck using a Pertronix set up that has been modified for a vintage YC-310 Mallory dual point distributor and 28675 Voltmaster coil with 7 mm wires and over the counter AC plugs.I also have cars with points that are 30 plus years old without any problems other than a condenser going bad.The electronic stuff just stops working without warning but a set of points keep sparking until burnt up.Just my 2 cents worth!
