2  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / TH400 modulator 8623365 on: March 07, 2014, 07:21:52 PM
Trying to find one of these modulators with no luck. The original one I have is no longer working and I don't want to put on one of the newer small type. Does anybody know where I can get one or maybe another solution ?
3  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 68 396 Camaro TH400 oil pump cover on: March 01, 2014, 09:51:06 PM
That's the one, thanks Mike. Doesn't really matter as you don't see it but I want to restore it properly.
4  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / 68 396 Camaro TH400 oil pump cover on: March 01, 2014, 06:48:32 PM
Were the covers painted or left as bare cast iron. If painted what colour were they ? Can't find info anywhere. Cheers.
5  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / 68 Camaro 12 bolt brake backing plate gasket on: January 28, 2014, 10:14:43 AM
When I disassembled my rear end I didn't notice any gasket between the brake backing plate and housing. I've noticed some resto vendors sell replacements. Are they supposed to be there or not ?
6  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 68 Camaro rear park brake cables on: January 14, 2014, 08:02:42 AM
I've posted a few pics to show the difference between the two. I'm assuming from the replies that RH side is correct for 68 ?
7  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / 68 Camaro rear park brake cables on: January 13, 2014, 03:40:38 AM
Does anybody know if 68's had flat wound cable housing or spiral wound cable housing on the rear cables ?. Mine has both fitted, not sure which one is correct.
8  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / 68 TH400 Modulator and line fittings on: May 18, 2013, 07:20:30 PM
Does anybody know if this was the correct modulator (part # and finish ) fitted to the 68 Camaro TH400's. Some people say they were cad plated so I need some advice. Also were the cooler line fittings that screw into the case brass or cad plated ?
9  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 68 Camaro horns on: December 14, 2012, 08:06:59 AM
Thanks for that, I must of missed that page when flicking through the aim manual. The drawing I was referring to was UPC U03 A1 on page 382.
10  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / 68 Camaro horns on: December 13, 2012, 08:32:26 AM
Not sure whether this has been discussed before but does anybody know the correct position for the mounting of the high and low note horns on a standard car. I've seen a few posts regarding a 69 but not a 68. The aim manual is not very clear.
11  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / TH400 shifter cable bracket on: May 30, 2012, 04:34:29 AM
Does anyone know which one of these shifter cable brackets is correct for 68 Camaro with TH400 and floor mounted shifter with console ? The description says they both are but the first one looks more like the one on page 353 of the factory assembly manual.

14  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / 68 Camaro TH400 oil pan on: May 07, 2012, 08:00:49 PM
Does anyone know if the TH400 oil pan in 68 Camaros was stamped with (Hydra-matic DIV OF GMC) or not. Secondly were they a plated or bare steel finish.
15  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Shock absorbers on: February 03, 2012, 03:37:37 AM
I'm after some aftermarket shock absorbers for the front and rear of my 68 Camaro. I can't afford spiral shocks so am after some good quality shocks that don't cost a fortune but aren't rubbish either. Is anybody using some that they can recommend.
