Neat car saw it at Super Car Reunion this weekend on Bowling Green. Lot's of paper work with car. Also saw several other Yenko's , Copo's, Berger, Motion' Barnette's 69 ZL-1 and Fred Gibb's Nova. Good to see Darrell's 68 L78 car there also. Carmen would be real proud how he has taken car of the car.

General Discussion / Re: Big block fan shroud
« on: May 25, 2018, 03:52:11 AM »
I have worked for gm parts for 32 years. Never seen 67-69 Camaro shroud with out part number cast in the shroud. That is the way  i would check in the shroud. But i have seen one were the hole was not drilled. We sent it back to gm as defective. So i would say anything is possible as far as the hole. Also checked 2 nos shrouds have 3 beads one used does not have not have bead's all stamped with part #3947619. Hope this helps.

I would use the gm 3956765 work for a gm for 32 years never had a problem with this cable just change grommet. Have a guy that restores Camaro's and he only uses gm cable tried aftermarket and was not happy with them!

68 cable # in assembly book show's 3932732 in 69 parts book shows 3931469. 69 show shows 3956765 in both books. Later parts shows 68#  changed to 69 Camaro # 3956765. Grommet # is 3922580 it also different # than cowl hood grommet. Hope this helps.

Glad to see you know what the car is now. Don't see many Red on Red Camaro's. Kool find since it is also Z-28. Also plum l78 you are right about at the motor mount clip. I was talking further  back were the fuel  line comes up the frame. Look in your 68 assembly manual for big block fuel line  show good picture of it.

« on: January 28, 2018, 07:22:14 PM »
Just checked 68 & 69 assembly manuals 68 shows capacitor 69 does not show one. Both 68's in our garage have capacitor on coil bracket one am car one am/fm car. Hopefully some 69 owners will chime in to help you out.

My 68 396/325 HP 4speed came from factory with 307 gear. Changed ring and pinion to 3.55 ratio but kept 3.07 gear in case i wanted to go back.
