Restoration / Re: 67 Std vs. Dlx door lock mechanism
« on: June 21, 2017, 06:55:46 PM »
Thanks Sauron327 but I'm referring to the door lock.  Installed it extends out 1/2 inch.  Not sure if that's std or dlx.  I have deluxe door panels.

The catalogs have separate listings for standard and deluxe for 67.

Can anyone give me the two measurements of the pins that the handles mount to (std and deluxe)?  Or better yet, pictures of them.  I need to make sure I have the right ones for a 67 Deluxe interior.  Thanks.

Can anyone recommend a good padding to use when restoring the rear deluxe interior armrests on a 67?  Can't be too thick.

Maintenance / Re: 67 stop lamp fail
« on: July 20, 2016, 11:02:22 AM »
I found a diagram with google that showed the wiring going through the turn signal switch.  I'll check the connector going to the steering column but other than that I can't imagine the switch itself causing this problem.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Could someone please provide a good stop lamp diagram showing all of the circuitry?  My brake lights stopped working and the diagrams I have don't show everything.  The tail lights are still working, as are the 4 way flashers and turn signals.  There's power at one side of the connector that connects to the brake switch and the switch checks good.  The Stop/Hazard fuse is good.  Makes no sense to me so I really could use a good diagram.  The only thing I haven't done is check the bulbs but they ALL stopped working so I haven't bothered.  Though I probably should since everything else has failed to fix the problem.

I checked the AIM but it's not clear at all.  It shows the wires from the parking lights being routed through a hole in the inner fender that I'll need to drill out.  Can anyone tell me exactly where this hole should be drilled?  Pictures would be very helpful.  Thanks.

Yes it's repro.  As far as I know it's all that's available now.

Restoration / Re: Pin on vent window handle
« on: February 13, 2012, 10:53:51 PM »
I used a wood clamp with padding to compress the vent window handle.  Sort of like one side of the clamp on the inside of the glass, the other on the outside of the glass.  By compressing it there's less tension on the path for the pin.  Removing an old one was much easier.  Installing the new one was still a bear.  They must have had a special tool for this at the factory.

The clamp was like this one.  They're about $20 at Home Depot, depending on the size you want.  They're also handy when sealing the weatherstripping.

I found stuff to use as a sealer between the trim and roof rail.  I have no idea how I'll get the trim to match the curve of the rail without causing the trim to buckle.

What's the best way to insert that pin?  It's a very tight fit.  Wouldn't want to damage anything.

Thanks.

I took them to a shop near me that does residential glass.  I thought it was an auto glass shop but they did them for me anyway.  Got them back  today and they look pretty good.  $30 and it was well worth it.

Thanks for the tips.

Restoration / 67 Vent Window

Can anybody please recommend a supplier for some black rubber channel to go on my vent windows?  I'm talking about the chrome edge that attaches directly on the glass.  Nobody seems to carry that in the Camaro catalogs but I figure it must be available somewhere.

Thanks.
