Yes I am sure the person who mentioned that to me will chime in. He has no reason not to. I had a friend looking at buying this car as we are SUPER close to it. So I PM'ed and when I got the response, I told him to back off. He had the cash, and it's a nice car. I hope this wasn't a mistake. :-\ :-\  ... Danny

General Discussion / Re: pawn stars z28

I seen it. It had a ton of incorrect parts. Or I should say for a REAL Z/28 it did. Master Cylinder and so on. It could have been the real deal. Those rims looked like crap. The show is all scripted, so ya never know what is real or not. I try not to watch any of these storage war, pawn, restoration, traveling picker, idiot brother, dancing with monkeys shows. But once in a while I get sucked back in. ... Danny

Bullitt65,
I have heard that Transmission stamps have been stamped without the gang holder. But not sure about block VIN's. Just all seems to squeaky clean to me....Yes it IS nice he posted some nice clear pictures unlike SO many other people and dealers. Like the one in North Carolina with 600 Camaro ad's and not one shows any stamps, or cowl tags clear and up close. F'n frustrating.... Danny

Yes, someone from this site has info on this car, and a high resolution picture. Maybe he will chime in and post the picture also... I am hoping he talks also about the cowl tag, VIN stamp on the block etc. Cowl tag rivets sealer looks SO perfectly rounded and clean. Just doesn't look right to me. ... Danny

Just an FYI, this car is for sale on eBay and is VERY close to me. I was going to offer to go look at it for anyone interested. It has been brought to my attention that it is a re-stamped block. Make note and beware.

Decoding/Numbers / 69' Z/28 on eBay, Has no Tach??
« on: August 26, 2013, 12:19:36 AM »
Is this car in the database? Anybody know of this guy and his dual Camaro Z/28's? Why is there no tach. Could you even get a Z/28 without a tach. I know that no console is fine. That seems like the only real red flag. Anybody else see anything? The Trans Stamp looks kinda not correct and too clean?? Maybe not..... What about the trim tag? Decoding/Numbers / 1969 Z28 VIN in the DB ??
« on: August 19, 2013, 01:11:22 AM »
I just left a house. And in the garage was a 69' Z/28. The owner of the car was there, and he mentioned it was a real car. Motor is not there, but original trans is, but it has a tremec 6-speed in it now. . There is a cover over the firewall. I asked him if he had the cowl tag and he said yes. I wanted to see it but he got uncomfortable I could tell. I asked him if it was an X77 or an X33. He said he didn't remember. He wasn't very helpful for sure. BUT... when he wasn't looking I wrote down the vin off the dash plate. And the cowl vent was off and it was hard to see, but it looked like it matched. I was wondering if it was in the DB??... Danny
