General Discussion / 1968 Camaro Z28 without a Tach??
« on: May 15, 2014, 08:54:26 PM »
Is there a way to order a 68' Z/28 without a tachometer from the factory? ... Danny

That seems like the top of the mark I guess. A little scared as the title is NOT in his name. Anybody know how the DMV transfer fees work if you bring a car in to your own state. I guess ya could just use the last guys title, but what about fee's? We have "non-op" here, but it's gotta be clear FIRST. And what if this car has hundreds or thousands in back fee's due in other states? Do they go away during transfer to another state? CA sucks as a State period, and has SO many rules and regulations to follow. I don't know, pretty scary.... Danny

I guess if I had to think about it I would choose one ALL finished and completely original. But I still like the thrill of these kinds of survivor cars. I am just not in great health right now, so couldn't take it on. Although my buddy wants to go in together and buy it. Ya never know. But yes, I know of probably 6 cars I would like to have right now. Here is a couple three below....Danny

Take a look at the transmission stamps, what do ya all think?. I talked to him for an hour a couple days ago and showed him where to look and where to take the pictures. I was just getting ready to edit them when they showed up on the auction. Looks good? ... Danny

Just found it for sale elsewhere...Punched the VIN in on the world wide web and found it 3 times at 3 different places for big money.  OUCH, all 3 adds showed wanting 45K!!!  Better find something worth more than 25K... Too rich for my blood. POP and docs worth a few bucks, but not 20K more!!! ... Danny

I wish somebody from CRG that lived close would go look at it. So we can get pictures of the Trans, Rear-End, and just the whole underside of the car. Plus more casting numbers throughout. The description is SO vague >:(
I would say if it was a Lemans Blue RS it would bring the bigger money. Don't get me wrong, I like the color. My first ever Camaro was BY with the RS package. Had the POP also, sold it for 5K... Rats.... I think since this has SO MUCH documentation, that if it all pans out... 30K ?   Danny

Well all I can say is, it's his loss!! He is probably pissed because someone gave him the proper info in the past, OR on his present car now and he didn't like the outcome. I would have liked to have gotten the license number of that car just to have it. Then if I ever see it I can check it out and wonder what it was for fun.... Danny

WOW this is a heck of a car. Just one repaint and original owner. MANY options.. Surprisingly enough, no RS package ordered... Danny

General Discussion / Re: 69 RS Z for sale in Ca with 32K miles
« on: April 26, 2014, 02:29:54 AM »
Seems like too much money to me. There is fully restored cars for 65K EVERYWHERE! I would go look but it is a touch to far for me right now at about 3.5 to 4.0 hours. Danny

Yes, who knows. I see that last digit is very light. Looks like a "9" ? How can you hit them all super deep and then have one that barely shows. What the hell!!  ??? ???   I need a few more entries here, and some more explaining before I tell my buddy weather or not to pull the trigger on this car... Danny

1376
I too am going to say that the other white type markings seem to NOT be light. And if it IS gang stamped, why are some of the numbers so darn deep and the others light. Maybe that day the gang holders were missing, so they set up a straight edge jig and did it by hand? How can one 6 be so deep and the other 6 RIGHT next to it be so light? Doesn't make sense. I hope William, Kurt and some others chime in with info and maybe pictures of Jerry's report in 06'. My friend is looking at this car and forwarded the info to me. Then I have been doing my own research... Danny

1377
These are the pictures unedited. Not much more help... BUT..Take a look at these... Danny

Here is a very nice 68' Z/28 that was inspected by Jerry M. in 06' as ALL numbers matching drive train. But I am wondering if the block and trans are STILL the same ones since 8 years has passed. This car must be in the DB. Do the pictures match from 8 years ago? I worked on the pictures for quite a while getting them nice and bright, clear, cropped and resized.... Danny

Again thanx, no Mrs. Starr, just me. 53 and trying to make it all happen. So I will be online for about another 3 weeks. Then extreme diet treatment, and then the radioactive stuff. I appreciate all the support. Danny
