General Discussion / Upper & Lower Control Arm Bushing Kit
« on: January 22, 2022, 05:47:31 AM »
Been searching through MANY pages looking for an OE style control arm bushing kit. Most are gold or urethane. Or come with MANY items I don't need. Just want upper and lower bushing kit. What has everyone been using for the most stock looking RUBBER kit. Thanx... Danny

General Discussion / 1968 Z/28 on BAT
« on: December 12, 2021, 07:20:44 PM »
I would be real curious to see if this is a legit front pad stamping. It is like a roller coaster. AND it looks like the production stamp is also a little crooked. Replacement Trans, now has M22. I blew up the picture some to get better visual on stamp and possible broaching. Second pic not great.

We have any engine facts on this car? Many online ads stating the famous phrase "Correct Numbers Matching Engine". Real Canadian Docs?  Danny

General Discussion / 1969 Camaro Z/28 X33 10 10 code
« on: November 29, 2021, 05:32:54 PM »
Could this be a real 10 10 tag car? I see what looks like original goop under the rivet. Too bad they sanded the pi** out of the cowl tag. No VIN posted, probably on purpose. I thought you HAD to post a VIN on eBay?  Danny

General Discussion / Matching Wheel Spoke Finish ?
« on: August 24, 2021, 07:11:53 PM »
Picked up some sets of wheels on a recent trip. Americans, Rally's etc...  One of the sets of American's has spokes with different finishes. A set of 4-15" X 6" "American Racing Equipment" Aluminum Sport Wheel. I guess that would be commonly called Aluminum Torque Thrust. Two of the wheels came in the dark finish, { LEFT } and 2 are light { RIGHT }. WITHOUT  glass beading them and turning them brite white, how can I get the spoke finishes to match a factory finish? Anybody have any experience with getting them clean and matched? Pressure wash seems to inconsistent to control and harsh. Danny

General Discussion / Surprise Car
« on: August 17, 2021, 12:20:11 AM »
Was out of town for a few days. Came home and my girlfriend surprised me with a car. It was dark, and she said I'll be right back. I didn't know she had it at the neighbors house. I didn't even see it when I drove by on my way to our house. She walked over and got it and pulled up with cool running lights. She drove a Camaro but just said it didn't have any balls. So she went to another dealership and BAM!! 2021 392 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack Hemi 6-speed manual. Had 22 miles on it. 10 of them she put on. Pretty exciting, I took it for a ride, nice car! Sounds great on acceleration AND deceleration. Need to wait about 1000 miles before I jump on it or slam the brakes. That's just what I want to do, I am sure you could take it to the track. Good Times ahead! I need to learn all the features/options etc. Danny

General Discussion / What's it worth?
« on: August 10, 2021, 12:48:03 AM »
Looking at some cars. With the recent jump in pricing, I am wondering what this car is worth. Went online and saw a few, but would like the gang here to chime in.

Originality / 1968 Camaro Z/28 with white arrow mark.. Factory?
« on: July 16, 2021, 06:26:29 PM »
This is a carry over post from the discussion on '68 Z/28 Battery Ground Strap Location...

I guess you are right, I don't know for sure. The car had one owner for a year and 3 or 4 months. He purchased the car off the dealership lot where he was a mechanic. His wife got pregnant and they already had 2 children and couldn't fit another in the back seat. So they sold the car. He died a few years ago. Why would HE pull the battery and randomly chalk an arrow? Probably still had the original battery.

Second owner had the car for 48 YEARS! Only drove the car 1,683 miles in 43 years 3 months and 10 days of those 48 years. Other years the car was driven quit extensively racking up thousands and thousands of miles before being parked. Car sat for 17 years then was driven for a day or two, then sat another 17 years. He is alive and well in his mid 70's, and I have talked to him several times. He said he put less than 100 miles on the car in 34 years. And HE didn't randomly paint an arrow.

Third owner drove the car a few 100 feet in a couple years. On and off trailer. Car barely ran, many leaks brakes all needing repairs etc. Was a flip purchase. He didn't randomly paint an arrow.

I am the 4th owner and noticed it during one of my cleaning and detail jobs.

SOOOO ... I am going to call it factory for now. ... Danny
