Just an FYI, this car is for sale on eBay and is VERY close to me. I was going to offer to go look at it for anyone interested. It has been brought to my attention that it is a re-stamped block. Make note and beware.

Decoding/Numbers / 69' Z/28 on eBay, Has no Tach??
« on: August 26, 2013, 12:19:36 AM »
Is this car in the database? Anybody know of this guy and his dual Camaro Z/28's? Why is there no tach. Could you even get a Z/28 without a tach. I know that no console is fine. That seems like the only real red flag. Anybody else see anything? The Trans Stamp looks kinda not correct and too clean?? Maybe not..... What about the trim tag? Decoding/Numbers / 1969 Z28 VIN in the DB ??
« on: August 19, 2013, 01:11:22 AM »
I just left a house. And in the garage was a 69' Z/28. The owner of the car was there, and he mentioned it was a real car. Motor is not there, but original trans is, but it has a tremec 6-speed in it now. . There is a cover over the firewall. I asked him if he had the cowl tag and he said yes. I wanted to see it but he got uncomfortable I could tell. I asked him if it was an X77 or an X33. He said he didn't remember. He wasn't very helpful for sure. BUT... when he wasn't looking I wrote down the vin off the dash plate. And the cowl vent was off and it was hard to see, but it looked like it matched. I was wondering if it was in the DB??... Danny

Decoding/Numbers / 1968 Z28 block Numbers
« on: August 09, 2013, 06:13:23 PM »
This block was certified original by Jerry M. What I don't understand is, why are the numbers crooked. The 4 and the 5 are hanging down lower on the end. Were not all of these stamps done with a gang holder?? Why are they not lined up straight even across? ... Danny

General Discussion / USA-1 Plates
« on: April 10, 2013, 05:08:29 AM »
Does anybody know for sure when the cut-off was for the USA-1 plates backing finish change. I thought the early ones had the green nitrate back. Then the later ones still had the same separation and spacing, but had the brushed aluminum back. Was it in the 70's that they got rid of the green back? .... The picture shows green back. I always thought these were 69' - 70'....  Danny

Cleaning out my storage and found this sign. I was told that this sign hung in Chevy dealerships, in the waiting rooms. Anybody seen one before? Anybody know what year or years it was used? I have never seen another. If it's late 60's I am going to maybe keep it.... Danny
