General Discussion / 1968 Z/28 Pistons Value
« on: June 02, 2023, 05:03:02 PM »
This is a set of Original Survivor 1968 Z/28 Standard bore pistons. Part #3927172... They are all consistent in wear showing no major damage and come with wrist pins. I can't find any online for sale by themselves. Any idea what the value would be? Thanx... Danny

I am not going to go into a bunch of stories. But my friend moved from Napa, CA to Colorado. He was a retired police officer. When he unpacked all the boxes. ALL his badges, collectible law enforcement memorabilia, accommodations, trophies were gone. You can put them BURIED in a giant box like he did. They go through EVERYTHING. And I have heard some stories about parts changed with car transporters. I bought some cars to bring back to CA and did it myself. The last one was from Wisconsin to CA. If it is possible, you can buy an enclosed trailer at Trailers Plus for $10,349. Sell it for $8,500 after project? And borrow a truck? I used a suburban on the last 2 or 3. I really hate to see ANYBODY hire a transporter. Especially one that has been through the brokered system. I wish you were close to me, we could do it together. Good Luck!... Danny

Good Luck on your search. I am wondering if some white cars are found, and you go look at them, how are you going to determine if it was the one you used to own? Maybe you get lucky and whomever owns it, it will show YOU as a previous owner in some paperwork. Those pic's look like they are shot from a 2nd or 3rd story window. Danny

Note that is the hood in the 3rd picture, not fender. I was just showing some panels stamped alike. That is the back left side facing out. D

There may be documented factory original panel cars with no stamps. I am sure there are some that didn't get stamped? D

Here are some shots on each fender and hood. All stamped 19. Have several cars and all have stamps on both fenders. Danny

General Discussion / Holley Bowl Gaskets

Anybody know where I can find the part number for soft Holley bowl gaskets for the bolts. I hate the solid white nylon ones. I need some that are slightly soft. Danny

What is the Dupont product you speak of?... D

I just texted Jerry a few days ago. I asked if he had a secret stash. He said nope, all gone. Danny

There were many cars that did not get the second hidden VIN. The car I am working on now does not have one. I looked around the area and it's not there.. Danny

Was at my friend's house and he pulled out a bunch of papers in a file. In it was this booklet with POP. So I took some pictures.
