Congratulations!  Very nice car.  I had a friend who had one just like that back in mid to late seventy's.  No spoilers.

Says Motor and Trans VIN match the car VIN. So would they most likely have been re-stamped to match the car, or has the car's VIN been altered? Wonder if the motor is even a legitimate 67 302?

If this was originally an L30, then it would at least have the matching VIN. on the Block wouldn't it?

Mild Modifications / Re: Ignition Wires
« on: January 23, 2016, 05:47:15 AM »
I used MSD Street Fire wires on my 327.  Got mine at O'Reillys.  #5553 is a universal set.  You cut to length and install Dist. end terminal, includes crimper for terminal end.

Did the tail-lights come into the factory as an assembly?  Is it possible there were more than one supplier?

Yes many parts are the same for 60-66. Cab is different 60-63 vs 64-66, but fenders and bed are the same. I was just giving you a hard time. I have seen guys make nation wagons out of Camaros and mustangs. They made a ton of all this stuff... That will be one heavy bed though!

Actually it's not as heavy as one would think.  The cab part isn't as heavy as the tail-gate.  The cab is just a 6 in. "slice" of the back of the cab.  I'm going to make a "faux" step bumper out of wood.  Had to get a new mattress and frame, needs to be King Size to fit the width of the truck.

I could have probably used your reject parts. Were they 60 to 66?  The guy I got parts from is only like an hour away.  I sent him a pic. of the bed, and told him I didn't want to cut up good usable parts.  I didn't get rid of any of the dents, and didn't use filler on the pitted spots.  If you enlarge the pic. and look real close you will see pits where the brown primer is.  I did have to weld up some holes, especially in the tail-gate, but didn't finish them off with filler.  Just ground them down.  In reality, I suppose some of thes parts could have been used on a "Rat Rod".  I did watch a couple of shows on Velocity on Rat Rods to get ideas for the patina I wanted.

I was thinking it could have a light or something in the glass area. good idea.
Have you seen the tailgates made into benches?
Yes, I have seen the benches.  We are going to have the tail-lights(blue dot) and interior Dome light working.

Here's a pic. of the cab.  I did not destroy a good rebuildable cab.  The floor and firewall was all rusted out, and damage to the front of the roof. I found a guy close to me on EBay that has all kinds of truck parts.  I recycled all the parts.  My wife is a "farm girl", she learned how to drive in a truck like this "three in the tree".  I took a pic. of the cab before I started, cleaned it all up, sanded and painted it the base coat.  And then added patina to look like it started.

I know this is not Camaro related. This my wife and I project/present for this year. Ours is not going to be quite that rusty.  It's '65 Turq. metallic (just Base Coat) with patina. Cab is done, I'll try to get a pic. posted.  My wish is to get the tailgate finished in time.

I just learned from Dave that the 427 block is a CE block.  Would be neat to find out, and be able to document, if it was changed through warranty.  He's owned the car 30 some years, so it had to have been done early on.
