General Discussion / Imagine my surprise
« on: December 04, 2013, 05:01:58 AM »
Imagine my surprise to see my Camaro on the Homepage.  Thanks a bunch!  That is an old pic., think it was taken shortly after I got the car on the road.  Now have put on about 4,200 miles. Many "finishing touches" since then.  Notice it doesn't even have the Headliner in yet.  Thanks again!

Maintenance / Exhaust Alignment Sleeves
« on: October 06, 2013, 06:03:48 AM »
I remember reading somewhere on here (Forum) someone was looking for Exhaust Alignment Sleeves, and was having trouble finding them.  These are the sleeves that go inside the Donut and slide up into the bottom of the Exhaust Man. and down inside the Exhaust Header pipe.  I found some, they come in either steel or stainless steel.   www.paragoncorvette.com  or call  1- 800 - 882 - 4688.     2 in. Steel part # 4092   2 in. Stainless part # 4093,  2 1/2 in. Steel part # 4094       2 1/2 in. Stainless part # 4095.   Hope this helps somebody  out.

General Discussion / Was the 293 B-R coil used in 67?
« on: September 30, 2013, 06:14:04 AM »
I have read conflicting (and sometimes vague) reports on what a 293  B-R Coil would be used on.  I have 2 of these complete with Bracket and Condenser, I'm sure one of them came off of my original (11 A built) 327  2 Bbl. set-up.  I'm now using a JACOBS Hi-Energy coil with my 4 Bbl. Holley/"610" Intake set-up, but I am wondering if those 293 B-R Coils are correct for the original set-up.   Thanks!

General Discussion / Nov. 19 '66 Sat. Eve. Post
« on: September 09, 2013, 01:48:33 AM »
My great brother-in-law grabbed this up for me.  Nov. 19 '66 Saturday Evening POST, has 2 page fold-out of the NEW 1967 Camaro.  The magazine is in great condition except for the cove, it's all there, but shows quite a bit of wear.  All the pages inside are in excellent condition including these 2.  Measures 18 1/2 in. X 21 in. Not that I ever plan on taking it out of the book.

General Discussion / Exterior Door Handle push button rod length
« on: June 28, 2013, 06:13:16 AM »
I just had a friend tell me this weekend that the rod on the Push Button on Repop Door Handles is longer than originals.  I hadn't heard this before.  He pushed the button to open the door on my car, and knew right off it had Repop Door handles.  The button engages right away on Repops.  He said to fix the problem you need to take the Door Handle back off and cut about 1/4 in. off of the rod.  I locked myself out of my car once last fall and suspect this was the problem.  I have since learned, if I lock the Doors with the key from the outside, then I can also unlock it without issue.

General Discussion / Not a big Fan of Decals.....but
« on: June 25, 2013, 02:44:13 AM »
I'm not a big fan of Decals, but after discussing this idea with a few people they thought it was a neat idea.  I know exactly where I was when my car was being built.  (Nov. 1 -'66)  Ft. Hood, TX.

General Discussion / Which Distributor was used on the L30 engine?
« on: June 06, 2013, 10:58:47 PM »
I have found conflicting lists on which Distributor was used on the L30  275 hp. 327.  I have found lists which say #1111124 and others that say #1111249.  I have a #1111249 with Date code 6H22 on the car.

General Discussion / early vs. late 68 Front spoiler
« on: May 30, 2013, 11:30:14 PM »
Can someone tell me the difference in "early" and "late" 68 Front spoiler?  I know that the early should have "pebble" finish, vs. smooth on the "late".  Can someone post the length of each?  I also know that the "early" was referred to as the short version, and required no brackets, vs. 3  Brackets on the later version.  Thanks!

General Discussion / LUCAS Hot Rod & Classic Motor Oil
« on: December 01, 2012, 07:50:50 AM »
I think this is relatively new stuff, has anybody here tried it?
http://www.summitracing.com/search/department/oils-fluids-sealer/part-type/motor-oil/brand/lucas-oil/product-line/lucas-hot-rod-and-classic-car-motor-oil
And what is general concensus here, is it better to change oil before putting the car in storage for Winter, or in Spring when I take it out?

General Discussion / Original Jack on EBay
« on: November 16, 2012, 07:26:28 AM »
  Anyone out there looking for an original Bumper Jack for a 69???  Listing shows picture of the Date stamp 8E, he says that's May of 68(is that right?)  He says it came out of a 69, a May Jack would be pretty early wouldn't it?  Here's the link;
