16  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: How long have you owned your Camaro? on: April 25, 2014, 07:32:01 PM
I bought my 68 SSRS 396 in 02/1980

This pic was not long after buying the car and replacing the left side front sheet metal. She had a big boo boo when I bought the car..

1981 ish..

2006...

2010..

2014 and the old girl is still probably a year away from being done.. Sad

We bought our X77D80 in 1998
We bought our 68 Vert in 2008

17  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: vin numbers on: April 21, 2014, 08:37:28 PM
124378N381579 would be the vin to a Norwood built V8 68 sport coupe. The vin will only tell if it is V8 or 6cyl coupe or vert and the assembly plant.
I hope this helps & good luck..

Anybody else snap a single cool shot Friday or this weekend?

Well I would be lying if I said I took this pic of our 68 rag on Friday, but I always kind of liked it anyhow. Smiley

Congrats!! i have tried doing that on my 68 SSRS several times over the years with no luck. The last time I tried it, about a month ago my add got flagged about 12 hours later.  Huh

If that car is legit, that is a smoking deal IMHO..

23  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Original seat tag on: April 11, 2014, 08:56:26 AM
No doubt, my Z's seats would be getting disassembled double quick. lol.. These seats have been in my 68 since about 1981, but were originally out of a triple Black 69 SSRS I parted out back before i knew any better.  Shocked
24  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Original seat tag on: April 10, 2014, 09:36:59 PM
I'm not really sure where to post this but I ran across this tag today while stripping my Passenger side front bucket seat apart to get ready for new buns & covers. This were original 69 trim 712 Black Comfortwieve seats. I had them recovered back in about 81 but the guy never removed the original Burlap as this tag was in between the layers of Burlap..

The original rear seat cover was dated 2/3/69 I thought I took a picture of the date stamp, but now I cant find it although you can kind of see the imprint from it on the rear seat bun. I will retake one and post it soon..
Here is the rear lower seat before & during tear down..

They are repo emblems from Firewheel Classics.
26  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: 68 Deluxe seat emblem location?? on: April 08, 2014, 06:12:51 PM
I found something on Team Camaro that said 2 1/6 from the pipping on the rear & 2 3/16 on the front buckets.
27  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / 68 Deluxe seat emblem location?? on: April 08, 2014, 12:04:30 PM
I am ready to start installing my 68 Houndstooth covers & I was wondering does anyone know the correct 68 Houndstooth seat emblem location? I figure I can look at a picture & guess but I would rather know the correct emblem placement. My car was originally a 712 car so I don't have anything to go off of? I have new buns for the front and I am using an old 69 Confortweive rear seat for the rear as the core.
 Thank you in advance,
 Nick
