There are measures for the front most and rear most of the lower rocker panel surfaces in the AIM as well..  I suspect that might be the best points for the body measures to get road height.

The Campbell Enterprises add for their forged pistons state:   "...... Wiseco Pro Tru Forged 302 piston sets for the Chevy 302 engine"
They call them Tru Forged... and it makes me wonder if they are building the same pistons as the old 'ForgedTru' pistons (which is what I've got in my 302), but which date to the 1971 timeframe or earlier.  Does anyone know?

your car itself may be 1/2" lower on the driver side....  it's not uncommon after years of having a single passenger (the driver)..

one small nit:   you cannot 'restore' a 302 and not use forged pistons, fully floated pins, etc..        you'd be doing only a semblance of a 302 if you used cast pistons.  JMO....

He now has 'Classic Headquarters' (right next door to Ricks') and produces a lot of the parts which Rick (and others?) sells.. and he only has a few customers he has to keep happy..?   that's one possibility.

I have a question how far apart is your car ? When was the last time you drove it?

I last drove it in Dec 1980.   It sat assembled in my garage for a long time until a couple of years ago, when I began to *relearn* what I used to know about Z28s, and began to disassemble, rebuild, and clean up parts.   The suspension and brakes I've gone thru, along with cleaning the bottom of the floor pan, cleaning the gas tank and fuel line, and replacing rubber bushings on the subframe.   Currently the front clip is apart and some dash components are removed for rebuilding (athough those are ready for reinstallation).

on a different note, HUBLEYMAN what is with all the black residue on the underside of your deck lid? I have a similar film of black on the underside of mine , did your car have some kind of rust proofing done at one point?

I'm guessing that the inner portion of my trunk lid was undercoated early in the cars life (by factory, dealer or otherwise?) and at some point in time the spoiler and emblem were removed. That would explain why those areas do not have any undercoating on the spoiler mounting hardware instead of them being completely covered with the same goop.  If you look at the inner structure from an angle, you can see more undercoating extending further inside of the trunk lid.  Maybe some soundproofing or undercoating was part of the style trim group?

This car doesn't have any extra undercoating or rustproofing inside of the fenderwells or on the bottom floor pans, other than what the factory may have applied to all productions cars.  Charlie

that application might have been done by the owner, or the dealership, in addressing water leaks into the trunk?   The holes for mounting the spoiler are a potential means for rain water to get into the trunk, even if the rubber weatherstrip is doing it's job, IF the rubber seal around the studs/nuts aren't doing their job.  Note:  water leaks into the trunk area can only be from the most forward of the spoiler mounting holes, since the rearmost ones are outside the trunk weatherstripping.

so the million dollar question is what hardware belongs on an 04D car?  Acorn style on the front and the shouldered ones on the back?

hi Scott,  I assume you are referring to the very back lip of the deck lid as the 'front'?? 
Does your car have the short or full width spoiler?   that *might* dictate which way it was built.    How is it now?

No, I don't agree.  There would be no reason to even try, as it would be futile to have attempted to paint that little sliver of 'head' between the aluminum intake and aluminum valve cover using the crude masks they had to use. 
I've never seen factory paint in that area on such a car (with aluminum intake and aluminum VC), but what you do in rebuilding your own car is your business..

Attached are photos of my factory original 7 blade fan and Eaton clutch (from my '69 09C Z28)...
I had to do a little light sanding on the fan blade to even tell there were numbers there, but are legible after cleaning away some paint to read the PN 3947772, along with '914087' and date code 'H69' (which I believe is for August '69)..
The Eaton fan clutch still reads:  'H21J'  and 'EATON CV'.. both printed, no stamps that I observed.

if you don't want to clean/repair the starter yourself, there is bound to be a local shop that does automotive electrical repair..  Check your phone book, or google to find 'auto electric'. or automotive electrical or starter/generator repair shops.   These things are very simple to rebuild... and easy to test if you have a battery .. *G*

Yes - those are assembly line correct for 67 - 70 Camaros.  And Corvettes
....
69 had peaked blade reading  <Trico> made in USA
.....
somewhere along the line the "squished flat peak" blades were used - may have been in Late 69  I am not sure when the change occurred.

Does anyone have any info on a possible 'late 69' change re the above?   I thought the arms/blades on my 09C 69 were original, but they seem to be the 'flat' type (if I know what I'm looking at)..
