I called my local chevy dealer ltoday; they didn’t show this number on their books. Discontinued for a long while, but they checked other dealers, and found a few dealers who did show one in stock:   They gave me a couple of dealers that showed them in stock (but the price is a bit high).  I called both and confirmed they had ONE part each:

OER makes a repro part for a lot less money($69), that seems to match up pretty well (in external appearance and configuration) with the NOS one offered for $240..  This probably works for most 2" Camaro V8 systems.

the AIM only shows it one way... and the 'flat side MUST go up with the donut side down, towards the exhaust pipe....

Here's a pic of my original on the bench. Hope it helps.

Jim, your heat riser is 'rotated' as shown in your photo, from that shown in the AIM and on JohnZ's engine..  There should only be 3 potential orientations, and one of those is likely impossible due to interference with the engine.  Either of the other two might 'work', but I think I'd go with what the AIm shows, all else being equal.

Here's my '69Z.

JohnZ's heat riser appears to be mounted (as I view it) where the weight is pointing towards the RF wheel well... (NOT towards firewall).

Someone referenced the AIM.. I've searched thru it, looking for a view of the heat riser,and could not find one.  What section/page is this located in?

and to respond to another comment:   Yes, Z28's have/had headers (or 99% did) within a few days of delivery, as that was the intention of the engineer who conceived/designed the 302... .. it's only now that we are all striving to 'restore' to factory configuration..

that reads only for 14 inch Polyglas tires (F70/14 to replace E78-14)  $88.60?  and to replace F70/14 on SS cars $26.25?  Did the non-SS cars also get a wheel upgrade to 7" for that option to justify the higher price?   Whereas the SS already had the 7" wide tire so the price was only for the tire upgrade?

No mention of 15" wheel cars ??

Didn't the COPO already have F70/14 tires on 7" wide rims?    so why the higher price?  (because they could?) *G*

...  Both tags would give pertinent information like: color, trim and date of build. The cowl tag may or may not indicate if the car was 396 equipped. This would depend on the build date starting with 2nd week of December 1968,when X codes were used for production line trim ID. Protectoplate data would give much more information regarding engine, transmission, carburetor, etc...These topics are covered thoroughly in this site elsewhere that you can look up yourself. Without those tags, very little, if anything, can be discerned about your car.

Clarification note:   1969 Protecto-plate information did NOT include color or interior codes.

You should read everything you can from this link:     http://www.camaros.org/
which is a database of knowledge (practically everything you ever wanted to know about first gen Camaros, but were maybe afraid to ask?)..
One thing it will explain is decoding of your data plate (and where to find it, etc) which has information on the paint color, int etc.
If you have any specific questions from that read, or from your car, come back and ask again!
