The car is a 1969 camaro. I will get the vin and numbers off of the cowl tag and post them later today maybe tomorrow. The muncie 4 speed is m20 that is orig to the car along with the 120 mph and 8000 tac. It does has a 10 bolt rear end which is not orig and the motor is a 350 not orig to the car.

General Discussion / LOS CARS???

I am looking into restoring a car built in LOS and I am having a hard time finding out what type of car it was when it came off the factory floor. How do you find out what kind of car (ss, ss/rs and motor 302, 327 350, ect) was built in LOS? The numbers on the cowl tag are 12437LOSvin#.

I have already figured out the the car should have the glacier blue paint (53) with a vinyl roof (B). Does the B mean Black vinyl and if so what color should the stripes be? Black?

The car currently does not have a vinyl roof but does have the chrome around the roof and I have been able to find 3 of the previous owners and all of them say that is how it came from the factory. Could a car come from the factory with the chrome trim but no vinyl just a painted roof?

Finally I have heard also that more of the "special order" cars were built in LOS is that true?

Sorry some of the these questions are basic but, that is why I am a NEWBIE!! Thanks ???

ps The car has 120 mph speedo 8000 rpm tac, and muncie 4 speed

General Discussion / 69 z28

Hello again,
First, thanks for all of your help in deciphering all of my questons about 69 z28's. I do have 2 more questions. 1. Should a late model 69 z28 ( sept build) have a 120 or 140 mph speedometer. 2. Did the 69 z28 have a shield on the bottom side of the trans to stop parts from going through the floor board? You can look at the Camaro that I am asking about on Ebay item # 280304378729. Look all the way at the bottom of the description where the pics are. As the pics slide across one of them shows the shield like thing on the trans. thanks once again and look forward to hearing from all of you. Brady
P.S If any body knows anything about this car I would like any info. I believe all the info that the seller has provided is correct.

General Discussion / Camaro Questions
« on: January 19, 2009, 05:30:47 AM »
Hello Camaro Friends,
I am looking into buying a 69 z28 with the crossram already installed. I have a couple of questions before I make the deal.
 1. I thought the Vin would be next to the engine stamp but, that is not the case with the 302 (according to the CRG web page) but will the engine stamp still be where it normally is or where do I find it?
 2. This gentleman states the block casting number is 3970010 which was a popular block which would fit a 69z28.
 3. The gentleman that owns the car states that the crossram is an original that was placed on by the dealer in 1969-1970. Is there any way to the untrained eye to tell if this is or is not an original or after market and if it is what is it worth? ( of course no documentation)
4. He also states that the carbs are 585 cfm but, have the number 4295 which according to the CRG web would be 600cfm right? So is he wrong and mistaken or could it be both?
Thanks for all of your help and look forward to hearing from you. Brady

General Discussion / Re: 1969 TI Ignition wiring diagram
« on: November 30, 2008, 10:43:11 PM »
Sam, it sounds like you have done what I am wanting to do. Do you have a wiring diagram and something to show where to drill the hole in the firewall? I have been able to find new repo dists. and amps. that are quite a bit cheaper than TI Specialties. Thanks for your help!!

May I ask where you found the dist, and amp from? Would these be the same as the crossram? and if so do they have others?  thanks

Hey I am attempting to restore a 69z28 with a crossram setup. I have most of the crossram parts ( intake, carbs ect) but, I do not have the TI wiring system. Does anyone know were I could get the dist, coil, amp and wiring harness along with ballpark cost? thanks ???
