Garage Talk / Re: 2016 Chevy Camaro will Pace the Indy 500

Gee! With all the PC stuff going on, I thought it would be a "TOYOTA CAMARY"

Thanks Jimmy V....and 69Z28-RS
I didn't go to the show this year so I can't say for certain, but I would probably bet my last dollar that not all 550 cars  on display this year were never displayed there before. I also know one of the vendors well, him and his wife have been doing the shows, both Vettefest and Muscle Car for years. He said they were screwing the vendors around also, upping the prices for the spaces and giving them smaller spaces to deal with. He was contemplating not doing the show anymore also. Sounds to me like Bob A has gotten too big headed. Only my opinion...and you know "Opinions are like As-ho-es, everyone has one".

I've done that show a few times, but not with my Camaro. When it first started out, after they did away with Vettefest, it was a very nice and affordable show, But like everything else the people who run it seemed to have gotten very selective on who and what cars were selected to be in the show and the pricing of everything went up. With out our cars to display for the viewing public they wouldn't have a show. A friend of mine who has also been doing MCACN for years and with a Corvette tried to enter again this year and was told he could only enter the show if he entered a different car than the one he's been entering. Pretty snippy, if that's the right word, if you ask me. I stopped doing the show a couple of years ago.

General Discussion / 1968 Seat Belts
« on: April 10, 2010, 04:51:30 PM »
Anybody know of any good used seat belts for sale? My 68 is in dire need of front Lap & Shoulder Belts. I have the Rears and the ones that are attached to the Roof, but I'm missing the Retractable ones, both sides, and the ones that the shoulder harness snaps into. The belts are Black and I believe, not sure, the Tag should read "Irving 1968 - Model #231 - 27-A-68". I know some of the Camaro Parts Houses list the new ones, but I'd like to find used if possible. Any and All Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know that much about them to say if it's a fake or not, here's a picture of mine that I know is real. It's from a 68 if that will help. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. You can compare..

Restoration / Re: 1968 standard rear tail light wiring harness
« on: November 10, 2009, 03:50:52 PM »
When I replaced mine I believe I got it from "Ground-Up Restorations", 866-358-2277, Pt. #14195. It appears to be Mfg. by "M&H Electric Fabricators, Inc., www.wiringharness.com  I have a 68 Std Cpe and it matched great. I installed it and everything works fine. The only thing is that harness goes from under the dash inside at the firewall by the fuse block all the way to the rear, and also has a wire for the right door dome light switch that goes under the dash from the Left side to the Right side. It's up high above everything, gauges, radio, glove box, etc. There are clips up there to hold it in place. Good luck and Hope this Helps.....

General Discussion / Need Help
« on: October 13, 2009, 03:49:24 PM »
I have a 68 with a Base 327/210 Engine. I believe the original 2bl (Rochester ?) was replaced with a Holley 2bl and after market air cleaner. The car has been out of commission for a long time and some of the parts have disappeared. I'm trying to go back to an original set-up with the Rochester. Can anyone furnish me with photo's or info on the correct set-up for the Original Air Cleaner and Vacuum lines. Appreciate it....

Hey Steve,

How about a friend of mine's 67. Photo taken at US41 Drag strip, Morroco, IN. We were on our way back from an NMCA meet in Bowling Green, KY that got rained out, so we stopped at 41 on our way back to Chicago. Also a Pic of my 68 which is not quite finished yet.

Why should it matter what your status is if we are all here for the same purpose. We all own and enjoy our Camaro's, some in other ways than others. We share the same interest. We share info when and if we can. I personally won't care if I stay a Newbie or become a Hero one way or another. If I can be of some help in anyway, and someone can use the help I provide, I wouldn't think what status you were would matter. We share a common bond here. Only my opinion folks, don't take it the wrong way...

General Discussion / Re: Date Coded Glass

Hi John, I replaced all the glass in my 68 Coupe. I got it from "Auto City Classic, Inc." (763/444-5880) out of Minnesota, a few years back. I furnished them the VIN and they put on the code. I don't know if they are still in business or not but you can call the number and see....Good Luck...Lenny
