31  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Age Groups of Our Hobby on: December 11, 2013, 08:46:05 AM
Well...I replied with my age but I still feel like I'm in my 20's. At least my wife tells me I still act like I am  Wink
Hey...who said you have to grow up!
You only go around once in life so when my time comes to depart, I want it to be like sliding into home base and saying "that was one heck of a run"!
Mike
I agree! Itīs not how old you are, itīs how old you feel inside that counts!!
.... I feel like 25 everytime I burn some rubber with the Camaro! Smiley

I also think that the reason for the next generation loosing interest in this hobby is due to the costs....
32  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / Re: Firestone vs. Goodyear Poly-glas tires on: November 20, 2013, 02:32:52 AM
I find this interesting..your the first to chime in on those tires.  I wonder if anyone has issues with the Firestone "Wide-O-Oval" tires.  I see alot of these on 69 Camaros. Does your car "wander" like mine, left to right, right to left?  Anyone out there having similiar issues with these tires please voice your facts.  thanks!  Don
I have the repro Firestone sports car 200 tires on my car. They ride like shit!
I had a set of re-pro Firestone Wide Ovals F70-14 on my 69 a year or to and then changed to NOS Good Year Polyglas H70-14 in rear and Polyglas F70-14 in front. My car is dropped 2" all around and I think the Firestones were a little more instable...but the NOS rear Polyglas maybee stabilizes the car up a bit?

Ha, he maybee they were! At least they were car enthusiasts themselves so they knew what to look for!  Grin

First gen, oh that's a lot I guess. I've been to the local show in my own town with like 120ī people and the show had like 1500 cars and maybee 30 first gen!
A couple of original pace cars, one original 427 (see pic above), a couple of real deal Z:s and the rest SS/RS, RS, SS and a bunch like mine, plain Jane's!

In Sweden totally i really don't have the figs but most of them are 69:s!  Cool Maybee Janne know....?

Man finding another Camaro, or sighting of another let alone another 69 in sweden while you guys are rolling yours must be wild sight. If I was visiting Sweden and saw (3) 69 Camaros rolling down the street I think that would have to do a double take, I thought there were just Volvo shows over there?? Cheesy
Smiley
No it's actually a lot of classic American cars in the street, at least during summer! Wink
I met an American couple in the age of 60 plus and they had never seen so many American classics during one night in their life and this was just a ordinary summer night in a Swedish town with like 200 000 habitans! No special cruising night, no car show, no nothing, just an ordinary summer evening! Smiley

Very cool post.  Always interesting the people and stuff you run in to at some shows.  Thanks for the post and pics!

Thanx Dennis! Iīm glad you read it! Smiley
36  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / Re: goodyear polyglas tires on: October 26, 2013, 06:56:43 AM
Since a couple of years I drive my 69 with Good Year Polyglas without any problems at all!   Roll Eyes
It's H70-14 in the rear and F70-14 in the front!  Could it be that I lowered  the car app. 2" with Hotchkis sport leaf in the rear and front that makes it works so fine??

37  Model Specific Discussions / Foreign Camaros / Re: Is this the first 69 Camaro sold direct to Sweden? on: October 24, 2013, 04:22:16 PM
I never thanked you for the data.
Thanks!
Always great to see export cars. The engine code should say if it's originally a powerglide or not. I expect it's original.
It was registered in April of 69. There's others that are registered before this one, and some with lower VINs, so I wouldn't say it's the first one, but is is an early one.
No probs, Curt!
I'm just glad if I could help! Smiley

Just curious...

Why are there Illinois plates on that first Camaro (orange w/white stripes) in Sweden??
Hi Fred,
That's my car and I imported it to Sweden from Waterloo, Illinois 2005!  This was one of two legal pilates that the former owner had ordered, and I asked if I could keep one! I also have the original plates from 1969!
39  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: NEED HELP ASAP!!! Photos of 69 Hockey Stripe - Baldwin Motion stripe too? on: October 17, 2013, 01:49:19 AM
Looks fantastic this way!  Wink
But you donīt think itīs too much with the added hockey stripe as well?
I would have lhad it like this for a while and then maybe add the other stripe, just my cup of tea! Tongue
40  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Re: Cross Ram Z in action - sorta - check er out on: October 09, 2013, 01:30:08 AM
Looks fantastic and I really love that aggressive sound!  Cool
...wonder what it would take to make my 355 sound like that.....  Smiley
41  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 69' Z28 with Factory Cross Ram on: October 05, 2013, 02:17:17 AM
Amazing!  Shocked
....but if the car is  an all original one why is the color of the striping and grille wrong then?
It should be white striping and silver grille, shouldn't it?  Huh
And the steering wheel looks like a Grant?   Undecided
42  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1969 Chevy Camaro Only Unrestored COPO in the World! on: October 02, 2013, 08:17:49 AM
I don't think it is the only iron 427 Camaro that is unrestored but definitely not the only unrestoed 427 COPO Camaro including ZL1s
as there is this amazing ZL1 story.

There are some 427 COPO Camaros that were old race cars that remain mostly unrestored but have mods from racing since new

unrestored ZL1

Wow, thatīs even nicer!!
43  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1969 Chevy Camaro Only Unrestored COPO in the World! on: October 02, 2013, 01:54:07 AM
Speechless!!
..if it's true, which it seems to be, I also would like to hear the story!!  Shocked
Maybee it's one of these cars that were left by the dealer and no one bought it...?  Tongue
44  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Hemmings Muscle Machine of the Year on: September 02, 2013, 02:33:41 AM
Got my vote to, spectacular car!!  Shocked
45  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Suggestions Wanted For 1969 Camaro Custom Paint Design on: August 19, 2013, 03:12:00 AM
Steve, I don't remember ever seeing a stinger hood with a hood tach. It is a fiberglass hood, they used lightweight springs. Not sure the hood would stay up! Glad you are going with the motion look. Retro is in. Everything old is new again.
Hi, look at the car behind mee! Smiley
