18  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 69' Z28 with Factory Cross Ram on: October 05, 2013, 02:17:17 AM
Amazing!  Shocked
....but if the car is  an all original one why is the color of the striping and grille wrong then?
It should be white striping and silver grille, shouldn't it?  Huh
And the steering wheel looks like a Grant?   Undecided
19  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1969 Chevy Camaro Only Unrestored COPO in the World! on: October 02, 2013, 08:17:49 AM
I don't think it is the only iron 427 Camaro that is unrestored but definitely not the only unrestoed 427 COPO Camaro including ZL1s
as there is this amazing ZL1 story.

There are some 427 COPO Camaros that were old race cars that remain mostly unrestored but have mods from racing since new

unrestored ZL1

Speechless!!
..if it's true, which it seems to be, I also would like to hear the story!!  Shocked
Maybee it's one of these cars that were left by the dealer and no one bought it...?  Tongue

22  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Suggestions Wanted For 1969 Camaro Custom Paint Design on: August 19, 2013, 03:12:00 AM
Steve, I don't remember ever seeing a stinger hood with a hood tach. It is a fiberglass hood, they used lightweight springs. Not sure the hood would stay up! Glad you are going with the motion look. Retro is in. Everything old is new again.
Hi, look at the car behind mee! Smiley

By the looks of the trunk area & engine compartment it looks like it was painted all white at one time.
It was va ery common custom thing in the 70:ies to paint the inner fenders, gas tank, rear leaf springs, rear axle etc in theese colors. It could be a mix of while, red and blue as the colors in the american flag! This car is a good example of that painting!
24  Model Specific Discussions / Foreign Camaros / Re: Is this the first 69 Camaro sold direct to Sweden? on: August 08, 2013, 12:14:40 PM
I also noted additional bumper mounted rear reflectors? or lights?    Are these peculiar to Swedish sold cars?  or obvious owner add-on's for some reason?   The rear mounted driver side whip antenna was also peculiar...?
Theese reflectors are often used if the the Swedish car control  didn't accept the original reflector in the rear lamp lens.
The antenna is a typical car antenna from a gas station or similiar, nothing original!

The color appears to be an approximation of Garnet Red, based on the pictures.  Was it an obvious repaint?  That's a difficult color to reproduce in a low-light environment.  How close to Garnet do you think it was?
Nope, it's a metallic color and not close to Garnet! It's the darn ajjfone that fools you! Wink
It's a repaint for sure!
26  Model Specific Discussions / Foreign Camaros / Is this the first 69 Camaro sold direct to Sweden? on: August 07, 2013, 03:35:23 AM
Me and my Camarofriend Nikke went with our 69:s to a local car show hear in the northern part of Sweden.
Here we are cruisin

Walkin around all the cars at the show our eyes suddenly fell on a rather original lookin 69 SS/RS Camaro. We stepped forward and started to look at the car and the owner showed up as well.
When we saw the Swedish 3-point seat belts, the fold-down rear seat and the rear window defroster we got really curious!  Shocked
As we spoke to the owner he told us that this car was sold new in Sweden 1969! When we saw the rather odd lookin trim tag, export tag, you can se that this is a 1968 10C car! Itīs not the original color either, should be Garnet Red. It has a 12 bolt rear end and limited slip and right now a power-glide tranny!? According to Swedish car register it had a manual gear from the beginning? We donīt have any numbers on drivetrain or engine at this moment. Pictures taken with my iPhone, the only camaera availible!
Itīs also equipped with a trailer hitch, probably produced and mounted here in Sweden but it has been there since the beginning!

Maybee Kurt can put this in the VIN-library? Smiley
27  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: hugger orange z with green interior on: July 16, 2013, 01:55:49 AM
Nicke car, but....
- Isn't the whole interior supposed to be green? Like the steering wheel, door arm rest and center console as well?
- i like the " original COPO color combination"!  Grin
