I donīt have a bumper jack so I was thinkin of turning the spare wheel up side down as shown in your pic John! 
When you have a repainted Hugger orange steel wheel and a brand new RWL Goor Year tire I think itīs a shame not to show it! 

What du You think about that guys, to far from originality or what?

Hi!
I want to see pics of an original trunk mounted spare wheel so I know how restore as correct as possible while Iīm at it! 
I donīt have my POP or other documents to see how my car original was equipped so I just want to see whatīs most likely to have been there....

....have I missed something here or what is the original color from the trim tag?

I agree with most people here that you should keep the car original and make a resoration where itīs needed, no more!
COPOīs are every where but a slant six is very unusual, at least here in Sweden thin k we got one(1) !

...but still, itīs up to you!

Well I’ve driven my 69 for the first time and found the corvette rims with 15” 235 BF goodrich tires are rubbing in the rear, I was quiet surprised when I hear others with 255 and so forth on them. Is it my rims not being the proper rim for the car or what? When buying the car I was informed the rear end had new axels installed (4.11) but I can’t see that effecting the position of the tires in the wells. I’m going to take a hard look and make sure my axel hasn’t shifted but what I’ve could see so far it looks fine. I’m holding off buying tires until I can figure this out. I think going any smaller on the rear will really change the look of the car. When i get a chance I'll post a picture of the now and then later the after look you guys can decide if is better or not.

My car had Hi jackers due to this! The Corvette wheels are 15x8" and often with wrong offset for a 69 Camaro as Curt says!

Yes ,  i  put the D90 stripes and the D80 spoilers . I have ordered all the paper from GM and i try to reproduce it as original as possible except for the wheels and console gauges , it was born with mag style wheel cover and no gauges and i don't really like hubcaps

...dog dish rules, ok?

I Know a lot of camaro owners love the stock or cragar rims but I prefer the larger rims on the older cars and I’ve owned a 1970 dodge dart with 17’s a 1968 Delmont 88 with 20’s a 1969 GMC ― tonne with 16” and I currently own a 1972 GMC ― tonne with 18’s and now the 1969 camaro and I have never had one person ever say to me I’ve ruined the look because of the rims I installed. I’ve always received the thumbs up for a cool looking vehicle. Don’t get me wrong I do like to see the stock car look but it’s just not my thing. I’m more into the FOOSE looking redesigned old vehicles. I see I have a lot of replies but still not the info I was originally looking for, so dose anyone know the max size of tire? By the way charley cool looking ride.

I know how you feel, been there done that! I went from Corvette Rally Wheels, that came with the car from the pre owner in the US, to 18" Eagle Alloys and now back to the original 14" steel swheels with dog dish and F70-14 Firestone tires!! I get a lot more positiv comments with my 14" steel wheels now then with the 18" bling-bling when the Hugger is at exhibitions!! I think itīs up to you and itīs so easy to change looks just by shifting wheels!!  ...I really loved the bling-bling too, now when i see the pics....hmmm.... But it didnīt ride wery well the 2" dropped springs and 245/40-18!!

Iīm going for the same look that you are but i used the original 14x6" but with the steel wheels for disc brakes! COPOS had like 14x7" wheels.





I also have 2" dropped Hotchkis Sport leafs in the back and 2" dropped sport springs in the front!

If you want to rattle can the grille, use Krylon #1403, dull aluminum.  It's right on the money.  Actually the best match that I've seen. 

How come that beautiful Hugger orange Camaro in the photos here has 1970 Firestone tires?

Iīm not that ortodox that I use tire from the right year! I guess they had to change tire during the years too, when tey used a 69 Camaro during the 70:ies, donīt you!

...but Iīm going to change to a set of Polyglass but for another reason......!

Hgger69, how do you plan to wire the tach?

Do you have a HEI? The Classic Industries catalog states you can not use their tach with HEI system.

I was planning on adding the tach also, I have a HEI, and do not know how to wire it.  There is a hookup for a tach from the HEI, but not sure if it will work.

I have a 45 kV supercoil from ACCEL and I donīt think itīs HEI!? How do you know that??
I had a 5" Autometer tach before and I just moved the wiring from that to this new tach and it seems to work but I havenīt run the engine yet, just toggled it with the starter!

I did some work on saturday and here is the result!
First after using the template I drilled the contur with a small drill and then I used like a Dremel tool with a smal sand paper tool and smothened it up!



And this is a mock up for the new gauges! I think this is gonna be great when the wiring is completed! Iīm also gonna move the Pionees stereo to the glove box and mount a radio delete Deluxe plate instead!
