I was not joking. Your car has a very unique look to me. It is not an SS or Z 28, or copo clone and stands well for what it is. I really like itr. Great pics.
Thanx again!
No, not every 69 Camaro is a true SS or Z! I like it this way and itīs cool to have a X44 car....as I said before it could bed a real COPO, nobody knows......
My ambition is to have my own look on this car, like an old school Pro Touring! :)

Wow this changes everything. This is perhaps one of the most unique looking Camaros I have ever seen as well. I love it. Perhaps I need to rethink my current plan. Please post more info on this awesome car. It looks like a million dollars. I have never seen or heard of this combination before.

Eh, thanx but Iīm not sure if youīre pullin my leg or what?? This is not a unique Camaro for what I know....could have been a COPO ones, who knows? ;)
I do know that my car is a X44 but with Deluxe Interior and original Hugger orange paint. The larger bumper guards were probably ordered from beginning according to the looks front srcew holes.
Orignal 14x6" steel wheels with F70-14 Good Year Polyglas and original dog dish. Rear wheels are a custom version made by me, 14x7 and with a set of NOS H70-14 Good Year Polyglas tires! ;) Car is lowered 2" with Hotckis sport leaf suspension.
Engine is a 355 with some old school  stuff on it for better looks!
Some moore pics:

I don't think blue collars did pay much attention when they slammed the clips in place!
Here is the result of my own mounting:

...you have to push really hard to get them fixed in place, beware of cracked thumbs! ;)

Mild Modifications / The Hugger goes old school Pro Touring!

I've been thinkin of changing my back tires on the Hugger cause I think they look like bike tires! This is not what you expect on a muscle car today!  :-\
I started to look around EBay for some old school wider tires. Together with some 14x7" rims could it be the recipe for me!
With help from a firend of my a couple of NOS tires were found and they even had there color marking on!:

During the winter I took all the wheels down and sent the rear rims for extension(?) to a special rim shop. The result is great and you can barley see that this isn't original 7" rims! After sand blasting and paint they look like this:

The differ between front and rear rims:

I also made a spare wheels in the same time.

I also change brand of the tires for this season to match the NOS Good Year Polyglas from EBay. The rear tires are H70-14 and the front ones are F70-14.

Here they are in place:

...have you ever heard of "old school Pro Touring" before or am I first with this expression?

Hi guys!
At last, the spare wheels is in itīs place!  ;D

The painter made it like this, correct or not:

With the tire on! And as you see, the J-rod from OEM were long enough to put the wheel upside down! :)

...and finally in the trunk, the way I wanted:

Originality / Re: XT wheels with trim rings
« on: February 07, 2011, 11:48:16 AM »
In a sea of rally wheels, I have been thinking about running trim rings with dog dish caps on my 68.  Originally, my wheels were black since they had P01 wheel covers.  I actually painted one of my wheels (Ash Gold) and installed the trim rings & dog dish caps.  IMO, it didn't look very good.  I sprayed the wheel argent silver, installed the caps & rings, and it looked really good.  So, now my choices are; 1) Body color wheels with dog dish only, or 2) Silver wheels with dog dish & trim rings.  Decisions, decisions...

I made the same decision a couple of years ago based on the same reason! I still think this looks great on a 1 gen Camaro! :)

Thanx for info Dave, but my trunk floor is ok and the loop is in place!
..it looks to be seated in the right place but I donīt know if itīs the original one or a repro!?

A nother quest that popped up - How is an original steel wheel painted on the inside? I have Hugger orange all over the wheel both inside and outside, should it be black on the inside like yours John or ....?  ???
