181  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1967 LED Tail lights - Do you like - or not? Poll with photos..... on: June 18, 2009, 04:33:27 PM
Just out of curiousity... which brand LED conversion kit is it?
182  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1967 LED Tail lights - Do you like - or not? Poll with photos..... on: June 18, 2009, 06:14:41 AM
I like them and would keep them.
183  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / Re: 69 Headlamp Problem on: June 12, 2009, 06:17:24 AM
Weird. I found the issue with my 69 Camaro....
if I pulled back the carpet to expose the dimmer switch, my headlights would work OK (standard & high-beams).
Apparently the switch was hanging up on the rubber carpet grommet. I pulled that grommet out of the carpet, re-installed, and it works great now.
184  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / Re: Q? About LED lights (tail lights, turn signals, etc) on: May 24, 2009, 12:40:15 PM
Good point about the tail light socket mounts come in from the bottom,
so these LED bulbs would be pointing UP.
I didn't think of that.
Thanks.

I see that American Autowire sells LED OEM Style Replacement Bulbs...
http://www.americanautowire.com/catalogs/AAW_sections/AAW09_Lighting&Sockets.pdf

This seems like a cheap alternative to the expensive LED conversions kits.

ARe these bulbs any good? Do they put out good/bright light?
If so, why would anyone buy the expensive kits??

187  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: 67 kick panel sealant? on: May 19, 2009, 06:15:57 AM
I believe that it was something very similar to "plumbers putty"....
I would use press-in caulk.
188  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Blog compares 1st gens to the new 5th gen and is somewhat unkind... on: May 14, 2009, 11:31:31 AM
I have yet to drive the new Camaro, so I really can't comment on it,
but I have no real problem with what he says about the first gen's.

Modern cars are built better from the factory. It's a fact.

Oooo... that striping on the 2010 is not pretty
190  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: 1967 chrome door lock knobs on: May 10, 2009, 06:06:40 PM
OOPS... my bad.
I assumed they were all the same for 67 thru 69.
191  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: 1967 chrome door lock knobs on: May 08, 2009, 03:46:34 PM
Just an FYI.... National Parts Depot (NPD) carries both the metal and plastic ones.
I bought the metal ones; they are solid (not 2 piece).
192  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: What is the best way for first contact of previous owners? on: May 07, 2009, 04:42:58 PM
I would call first. Try to talk over the phone.
193  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Ok Guys - Help Me Decide the Stripe Color for my Special Order Paint 67Z!!! on: April 24, 2009, 11:42:37 AM
I would go with 'white' stripes..... just because IMO it's a better color combo.
194  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Q?: Hotchkis SFC's and GW Body Mounts on: April 19, 2009, 02:55:36 PM
I've already bought my Hotchkis subframe connectors and I want to get the Global West InterLoc solid aluminum (stock height) body mounts.....

The question is.... should I get their standard mounts #800 or the mounts #809 they recommend for their own SFC's Huh
What's the difference between the 2 of them?   Note: The #809's are $22 less.

Thanks.
195  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / Question about gas tank on a 69..... on: April 18, 2009, 02:06:00 PM
I have tank out of car. I'm trying to dump out all the gas, but it won't all come out because of the baffles.

Does anybody know how the internal baffles are configured?
Are some attached to bottom and some attched to top of the tank?

BTW: I think it's an aftermarket tank.
