181  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: past history of 69 camaro on: August 31, 2009, 06:14:25 AM
.... I do live in Texas, which has privacy laws that will not give any information on prior owner's of the car. ...

I guess that does it for me.  Because my 69 Camaro was brought up from Texas a few years ago.

Not really.
185  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Body adjustment needed?? on: August 24, 2009, 04:59:32 PM
You need to check the front subframe alignment.
There are 2 holes in the frame under the firewall used for aligning the frame ; one on each side, put a screwdriver through the hole and it should meet up directly with an alignment hole in the body above it. Hopefully, I explained this clear enough.

If they don't line up, you have an issue.

Here is a suggestion, since no one can definitely prove the exact color, why don't we all agree to just paint them satin (30%) for creating a current standard since gloss looks absolutely awful.

 Cool

I agree 100%. I will do that.
188  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Exhaust Manifolds - Any differences between cars with auto/manual trans? on: July 14, 2009, 06:30:27 AM
Yes, it's for a SS350 SBC.

I did not know that all manual trans cars originally had AIR.

Thanks.

Exhaust Manifolds - Any differences between cars with auto/manual trans?

I'm looking to buy a set and....
I keep seeing ads stating that the exhaust manifolds are from either an Auto or 4-speed transmission Camaro.

Is the really any differences??

I would have to say "YES" but only if it originally came that way.
191  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1967 LED Tail lights - Do you like - or not? Poll with photos..... on: June 18, 2009, 04:33:27 PM
Just out of curiousity... which brand LED conversion kit is it?
192  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1967 LED Tail lights - Do you like - or not? Poll with photos..... on: June 18, 2009, 06:14:41 AM
I like them and would keep them.
193  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / Re: 69 Headlamp Problem on: June 12, 2009, 06:17:24 AM
Weird. I found the issue with my 69 Camaro....
if I pulled back the carpet to expose the dimmer switch, my headlights would work OK (standard & high-beams).
Apparently the switch was hanging up on the rubber carpet grommet. I pulled that grommet out of the carpet, re-installed, and it works great now.
194  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / Re: Q? About LED lights (tail lights, turn signals, etc) on: May 24, 2009, 12:40:15 PM
Good point about the tail light socket mounts come in from the bottom,
so these LED bulbs would be pointing UP.
I didn't think of that.
Thanks.

I see that American Autowire sells LED OEM Style Replacement Bulbs...
http://www.americanautowire.com/catalogs/AAW_sections/AAW09_Lighting&Sockets.pdf

This seems like a cheap alternative to the expensive LED conversions kits.

ARe these bulbs any good? Do they put out good/bright light?
If so, why would anyone buy the expensive kits??
