Decoding/Numbers / Re: Caveat Emptor...tag swap
« on: April 02, 2018, 08:14:09 PM »
...VIN indicates a late March Van Nuys build; body tag is from an early February Norwood car.

One or both tags are not original to the car...

I actually emailed the seller and he responded that he was unaware of the issue and
that he was going to do some "research" on it.

I've used National Parts Depot (NPD), Classic Industries, and Heartbeat City...
I have no complaints with any of them.

General Discussion / Re: Unrestored Z/10 anyone?
« on: March 23, 2018, 05:30:39 PM »
Just curious... Do you guys think that $22-23K is a fair price for a car like that??
(Personally I wouldn't spend that much on a car that needs that much work, but that's just me).
Obviously the car needs a lot of work, but how much does a Z10 add to the equation?

OK, thanks.

Is there a list compiled that shows all the standard gear ratio's for each engine/trans combo??
I was looking for one but never found one.

Quote
L35 (396/325) with 3 or 4 speed.
Curious... Where did you find that info?

Also, I don't think my Camaro would have had a BBC because of the heater core in/out location.

Where does the speedo cable come out of the firewall? If it comes out under the fuse box area it is a lower performance model like a 307/200hp Higher performance model muncies, come out to the side of the throttle lever (Left side looking at the firewall, right side of the car)
It comes out to the side of the throttle lever.

I've been trying to figure out the possible engine/trans combos that my 69 may have been built with...
the car has the original rearend (Axle code: BR 1206G1, Line2: E, Casting: 3894860NF) Read: 12-Bolt Posi 3.07
But the engine/trans are non-original.
And I know it is was originally a manual transmission car(clutch/brake pedals).

So, assuming the 3.07 gear ratio was standard and not an option...
What engine/trans combos would have been possible?

General Discussion / Anybody buy from LicensePlates.tv
« on: January 15, 2018, 09:42:48 PM »
Just curious; saw an ad for www.LicensePlates.tv
Apparently they make custom reproduction USA State License Plates.
Anyway, I'm wondering how good the quality is.

Also, It's strange that their Texas plates are the "euro" style?!?
My Camaro is a Texas car, but I wouldn't want that style plate on it.

If you're not worried about looking original...
I'm running Bilstein's on all four corners and I love the ride.

Garage Talk / Re: My First Camaro - What was Yours?
« on: August 19, 2017, 09:15:02 PM »
My first Camaro was a 1974 burgundy Sport Coupe with a 3-speed manual.
In 1977 I ordered a new black Sport Coupe with a 350, 4-speed, and positraction,
which I owned for 30 years before selling to buy my dream car (a rust-free 1969 Camaro).
