Maintenance / Question about Chrome Trim around tail lights on a 69...

It looks like the previous owner of my 69 Camaro (non-RS) used black RTV to attach the chrome trim around the tail lights, and now it's starting to come off.
What type of glue should be used for this??
I don't want it coming off while I'm driving and losing any pieces.

I agree with Sauron327..... E-coat is also a dipping process and will cover the bare metal inside the frame....
